About this deal

The HALOT-ONE has a 6-inch 2K LCD monochrome screen with a 2560 x 1620 pixels resolution, Wi-Fi connectivity, a large 5-inch color touchscreen, and a 127*80*160mm build volume. Powered by an ARM Cortex-M4 CPU, HALOT-ONE brings you over-the-par performance at an affordable price. Creality’s first resin slicer Creality Box can give you simple and straightforward slicing experience, but other software options are available including ChiTuBox and Lychee. Likewise, the HALOT-ONE’s proprietary mainboard is powered by an ARMCortex M4 processor and 4-core GPU. As a result, the machine is built for prolonged use, efficiency and low power consumption, while remaining capable of parsing every point and slicing files of any given model, making it an accessible but highly-competent desktop system. The USB port for flash drives is also there. You can upload files the old fashioned way, or you can connect with a cable to a computer via USB type B. Elsewhere, the HALOT-ONE features an intuitive 5-inch full-view color touch screen and 127 x 80 x 160mm build volume, that’s compact and efficient compared to that of the larger HALOT-SKY, while its pre-loaded functions like the ‘Z-axis linear guide plus T-rod’ module, should help users of all abilities deliver stable print performance and reliable results.

Resin models can be fragile. It seems to be dependent on the resin you use, but I would opt for a PETG print for something that needs to be strong and resin prints for things that just need to look good. The Halot-One Plus sits in the awkward spot between small and large format resin 3D printers, and it’s hard to see if there is a place in the market for this machine. The large onboard LCD and built-in Wi-Fi connectivity are something you would expect on a more expensive printer like the Prusa SL1S, but are users currently looking for these features over build volume and print speed? That’s a hard question to answer, and only time will tell if the Halot-One Plus becomes a popular model. That is already amazingly powerful, but the repository actually goes one step beyond, not just offering 3D models and the slicer, but also pre-sliced gcode files from other users, organized by the type of printer they use.Resin 3D printing is a totally different process. Instead of hard filament that gets melted down, it uses resin as its raw material, which comes in liquid form. This liquid is basically composed of a mixture of different monomers and oligomers - short chains made mostly of carbon atoms and a few functional groups. Left in this state, they will remain in liquid form. The goal is to create longer chains using these monomers and oligomers which will eventually form the hard-plastic material for our 3D prints. This hardening or curing is achieved by precisely introducing UV light into areas of the liquid resin, hardening it and then moving on to the next layer. On a purely mechanical level, the process typically involves a base plate that is upside down and submerged in a pool of resin and as the printing progresses, gets pulled up layer by layer.

Creality HALOT-ONE is based exactly on LCD tech and part of the reason why it even exists and at such a price that it is even relevant for us to be testing it as a hobbyist/non-professional tool, rivaling FDM printers in the first place. Light source: 120W, self-developed integral light source system with over 80% illumination uniformity. 6 light sources, 3800uw/cm2 output. One of the promo videos for the HALOT-ONE does show a couple of other in-box goodies, like a plastic spatula and some gloves, as well as a cover for the resin vat, which would be particularly nifty. We aren't sure which set of accessories is final, though.Within its existing resin 3D printer range, Creality offers its LD-006, LD-002H, and LD-002R machines, with each featuring incremental levels of performance to match the needs of their different users. Compared to the entry level LD-002R, for instance, the LD-002H comes with a print size of 130 x 82 x 160mm, making it ideal for dental applications, while the top-spec LD-006 is fitted with a higher-resolution 4K screen. For those who are new to 3d printing and have the budget to buy a resin printer with better specs, the HALOT-ONE Pro will live up to your expectation. HALOT-ONE PLUS – for larger build volume

The Creality Halot-One Plus is a sleek, smart, and well-performing printer that worked well during our testing and left me impressed with the quality of prints made with minimal to no adjusting of the default settings when using the Halot Box slicer. The 172mm x 102mm x 160mm build volume is larger than other similarly priced printers, and the 4K resolution of the masking LCD provides sharp detail and fine features. I fully expect to get lambasted by the all-knowing resin gurus who, I can only imagine, are drooling over my mistakes. But hey, I deserve it, I just went for it. Here are a few thoughts I had after running a few prints through it: Like most 3D printers, you can either load up ready printing files to a storage medium and just plug it into the HALOT-ONE via the full-size USB Type-A port. Or you can hook it up to a computer and control it that way, using Creality's slicer/controller software. It is just conveyed after profoundly tried and reviewed by Creality IQC(Quality Control Inspector). The resin vat is also held in place securely by two screws with the same style of bid and is easy to turn with gloves on plastic bits. This is very much appreciated for the sheer convenience it provides once everything starts getting covered in resin. It’s print volume is slightly more vertically and slightly less in XY (135 x 75 x 130 mm versus 130 x 82 x 160 mm for Halot-One). We printed some test models, many of which with sub-mm details and the HALOT-ONE basically breezed through them all. Mind you, there is the occasional defect you will probably notice in our prints, but most of these were due to errors on our end.
