About this deal

He mopes and gets some insightful advice from grandma. Then h gets some insight from her sisters fiancé who knows H well. H gets help from a friend to show h a video of him trying to explain himself and tell her more truth about how dishonest he’d been with her, specifically things she didn’t know he’d been dishonest about. He specifically references wanting to embarrass his grandpa with the TikTok live they had planned BUT doesn’t name specifics so she knows that this isn’t about that for him. This works for some reason and she agrees to meet him to talk. During your commute: If you take public transportation or have a long commute, you may find it helpful to use that time to read. This book had so much potential, truly sad.. it had this old school college book vibes like Beautiful Disaster, nerd and off campus series. It started off so damn well. They have some major relationship struggles, with Logan feeling ignored. He desperately needs Leilani’s full attention, however he just cannot get it. He handles his struggles the way that any player would. He cheats on her. Right now I'm releasing the books a year apart because that's …more Aww that makes me so happy that you love the characters. I love them too, flaws and all!

Aaaaaannnndddd she does it on TikTok, because this is 2023 and teenagers do everything publicly on social media.Until they share this kiss that makes the entire world stand still, and Livvy begins wondering, maybe she’s misread him this whole time. During the day: If you have a flexible schedule, you may find it helpful to take breaks during the day to read a book.

Then she bumps into one of the other guys she’d considered. She realizes that H had told some fibs and manipulated her into dismissing this guy. The guy tries to tell her that H really cares about her but she’s triggered by his dishonesty and dumps him. However when she looks into those stern dark eyes, this ache pulls at the pit of her stomach. She wants him to dominate her, and she wants to taunt him in return. Lauren has never been able to resist Camden, even when she knows she should really protect her heart. Because he still hates her, and this is just a temporary arrangement for him. So she cannot let this become more for her. Spoilers ahead, particularly concerning the “grovel” but also other things for context. If you don’t want such specific spoilers then don’t read further. Kinks are thrown in at random in the cheesiest most awkward way possible. No depth at all. It’s got it all… and not a single one is done well or organically, it’s all talked to death and the hero is already a card carrying expert as he’s sexed literally all the people in all the ways dozens of times. Nothing at all is exclusive to the MCs. Nothing. He falls first and hard. He watches her online and admires her from afar but when he actually meets her. Its as if the earth shifts. He has these feelings from nowhere that he doesn’t recognise and doesn’t know how to deal with them. He’s an asshole to her after they have sex because he’s feeling vulnerable. He’s caught feelings at this point and she’s trying to make sure he knows she knows it’s just sex which hurts his feelings. He’s not a huge asshole but he’s an asshole all the same. However, He convinces her to keep sleeping together for three weeks so he can try to make her fall for him. It works. They decide to stay together. But nevertheless I love these purity culture books, because they make one realize how much something like that can affect your personal perception of shame No, all the stories in this novel are fictional. Are they making a movie on Shame by Skyler Mason ?

Anyway, the plot: the hero and heroine are college students. She grew up in “purity culture,” a branch of Christianity that emphasizes no sex until marriage. (At least, that’s my understanding from a documentary I saw a while ago. This book barely explains – like it expects us to just know). She’s now a TikTik influencer, posting about how that mentality was toxic for her. She posts a video announcing that she plans to lose her virginity (as part of her efforts to overcome her sexual shame that came from growing up in purity culture). The hero is the campus player, and his frat has a betting pool going on about taking the heroine’s virginity. I looked past the manwhore/virgin combo bc the author was saying what a huge grovel it had.....there was literally no grovel. Half the book the heroine is already aware he is manipulative anyways. It just had no tension or stakes. She forgave the one infraction he did that she didn't know about almost immediately. If this was an epic grovel than romance books are dead to me 😂

Shame Summary

it’s about some strict Christian believers that thinks that sex is only allowed in marriage, never before. So. I’m Italian grown up in a catholic culture and for Catholics sex is forbidden before marriage. Our mothers were very strict about it but thank god nature is stronger than nurture- at least in this case- and none of us girls reached the altar as a virgin. But I can understand it could have been traumatic for some girls that thought that sex was a sin and their emotions were wrong. Maybe some of us can’t have a normal and satisfying sex life because of this. The heroine is one of these girls. She wants to have a healthy sex life but she still feels shame for her reactions. So she decides to find a willing partner that would help her to get rid of her inhibitions and of her virginity. some days later, after the hero went TikTok - almost- with a video where he cries and asks for her forgiveness, she decides to give him another chance. Poor hero. With such a high maintenance girl I don’t know how happy he can be. His choice though.

Literally. Now you just have to prepare yourself for all the harassment you’re going to get from frat guys.”

She chooses the hero and then she basically becomes a slut in less than one hour which is quite unbelievable. But ok, this is fiction and we can accept this as we can accept the fact that the hero, a commitment phobic until he meets the heroine, suddenly falls in love with her and wants to marry her as soon as he breaches her maidenhood. And I’m not joking folks. I think this could be a divine revelation, it seems proper. This book should be used as a how-to on taking all heat and spontaneity from sex and intimacy in a romance. Straight cringe.
