About this deal

It is easily one of the most expensive film rolls out there, aside from maybe "special" film rolls that are more rare to find. This is a wonderful film - up till now I have used it with confidence as my main (well, only) colour film, but I am seriously beginning to wonder if I can afford to do so much longer. Known for its exceptional versatility and unmatched color accuracy, this film transforms ordinary moments into captivating works of art. As we have established earlier, Kodak also claims that the film is the world’s finest grain high-speed color negative film. no other colour film gives you so much latitude (-2 to +3 stops) so you can shoot with confidence even under challenging lighting conditions.

Capture Moments: Each of the 36 exposures on this roll is an opportunity to capture moments that resonate, creating a visual narrative that's uniquely yours. Exceptional Dynamic Range: Portra 400 showcases a wide dynamic range, allowing you to capture both highlights and shadows with stunning detail. The guys were nice enough to have a chat with me and were very helpful with tips and tricks to better my photography. I should have metered for the highlights and the midtones and used the settings somewhere between the two. iso is a great in-between – it’s great for our outdoor shooting as well as shooting in lower light and for being a 400 iso film it has a very fine grain that’s barely noticeable when exposed properly.Kodak Portra 400 is an ISO 400/27° daylight-balanced professional colour negative films introduced in 1998 and made originally for portrait and wedding applications.

Step into the world of breathtaking colour accuracy and timeless elegance with KODAK Portra 400 35mm film. In that same tradition, the new PORTRA 400 Film is the ideal choice for portrait and fashion photography, as well as for nature, travel and outdoor photography, where the action is fast or the lighting can? Portra has incredible exposure latitude meaning it does well with overexposure and it also pushes well.

Advanced emulsion technology provides sharp imaging, beautiful neutral skin tones and a finer grain than ever, making for excellent scanned colour reproductions. Versatile ISO 400: With an adaptable ISO 400 rating, Portra 400 excels in various lighting conditions, making it your reliable companion for diverse photography adventures. It’s easily one of the most versatile and forgiving films and on top of that, it produces beautiful results.

I do not recommend portra for indoor flash photography with a point and shoot camera because I have found that my pictures turn out more yellow than expected because of white balance issues. I wouldn’t recommend starting with this, as it is really expensive, but definitely a great film for anyone looking for clean, sharp, accurate images. Choose KODAK PROFESSIONAL PORTRA Films for natural skin tones, ideal colour, and finer grain in every situation. We provide hardware, software, consumables, commercial print, packaging, publishing, manufacturing and entertainment. It is a part of the Kodak Portra range of professional quality, daylight-balanced, colour negative films. As much as we raved about how versatile and how much latitude Portra 400 has, it still can be underexposed. This means that it is known as a mid-speed film, and will be able to take photos in most common lighting situations. no matter the lighting conditions, even under fluorescent, you can expect beautiful, natural colour. It’s limitations in my opinion are when you push it since there can be a little too much saturation, making darker skin tones turn a bit orange rather than a nice brown.

Ask around the internet for everyone's favorite film rolls, and it wouldn't take long before you hear the mention of the Kodak Portra 400. com has so accurately written, there is nothing in the resulting images that is overdone, yet nothing is bland either. Depending on where you live, a roll of the Portra 400 can cost around €15 - €30 in the 35mm format, while the pack of 5 in the 120 pro starts from around €70.

Maybe you’re using that harsh light to your advantage, or you use a giant window to soften the light. Portraiture Perfection: Loved by portrait photographers, this film renders skin tones with unmatched precision, ensuring that your subjects always look their best. If you’re going to spend the time and money shooting and processing film, I think it’s worth a couple extra bucks up front to make sure you get the best possible results.
