About this deal

A lot of the book deals with both Bailey and Charlie’s feelings about their parents separating and dating again (more Bailey than Charlie, who doesn’t tend to disclose as much).

Who then turns out to be a tall drink of half regular, half diet coke (iykyk), funny, sarcastic CINNAMON BUN WITH CREAMY CHEESE ICIING. All in all this book was a very enjoyable read, offering a little bit of everything - which, as it turns out, was precisely what I needed. Their friendship was fantastic and I loved how it started to become more especially after the fake dating weekend. When seventeen-year-old Bailey starts a new job at a hotel waterpark, she is less than thrilled to see an old acquaintance is one of her coworkers.

for someone who is literally constantly looking for even one comfort read in this cold, cold world, and for someone who constantly hates all of them, this was huge. Much of the story is about both of their issues with recent break ups and on top of that both of them having issues with each of their parents' divorces. Bailey is less than thrilled about this but as she strikes up a friendship than Charlie, she discovers he's maybe not as bad as she thought. A few years later, Bailey and Charlie end up being co-workers at a hotel waterpark where they transition from co-workers to 'friends' to.

Charlie, despite coming across as a bit of an annoying, know-it-all had so much depth and growth in this book. Our two main characters meet on a flight and years later run into each other and end up working together at a water park. But the more we get into the book, with Bailey trying to sabotage the relationship, the more I realised that Scott shouldn’t have been the recipient of her frustration. Bailey met Charlie a year ago on the long flight to Omaha, where she moved after her parents’ divorce. These two just have undeniable chemistry and their conversations kept me so entertained through the entire book.

chill the fuck out, really fucking cute, loud as fuck, for fuck's sake, fucking chump, fuck me, and more! I know I’ve sounded super down on this, but there were times I thought Charlie and Bailey had such cute interactions and were really great for each other.

okay so looking back at this i never mentioned the crying in my actual review because i'm NOT joking it was pathetic. saw somewhere that this gave 10 things i hate about you vibes which just happens to be my fav movie, so now i must confirm if it’s true or not! However, I definitely had some issues with this one – I didn’t dislike it but this was missing a lot of the magic for me, for multiple reasons.

The two main characters had such great chemistry and the way their relationship progressed was very believable. I can relate to her since I am also really close to my mom, but unlike Bailey my parents are very much together and I'm close to both my parents. That being said, I loved that the characters developed a deep emotional connection and it wasn't based solely on attraction.

chapters of banter, 3 entire pages describing an incredibly passionate make-out session, and so many pop culture references, but no actual story. I appreciated how the author discussed anxiety and showed how it can affect the lives of people on a daily basis. over the span of three years, they saw each other once or twice until one day they end up working at the same waterpark.I’m never drawn to the genre, and yet, each time I finish a YA book, I’m surprised at how much I enjoy them - this one very much included. This is an enemies to friends to lovers story, with some deeper emotions of divorced parents and anxiety.
