About this deal

Its soap is made using only vegetable oils, especially olive oil. No colorants or synthetic substances are added. This exceptional purity renders it beneficial for the skin and environmental-friendly. The traditional Marseille soap manufacturing process is a guarantee of "Extra Pure" soap that is entirely free of impurities. It is gentle on all types of skin, even the most sensitive ones (babies, people with allergies, etc.). Thanks to the nourishing properties of olive oil, Marius Fabre olive oil Marseille soap helps your skin keep a more natural moisture balance*.

For more than 118 years and four generations, our family has been making Marseille soap exclusively from a rigorous selection of vegetable oils. It contains no colouring and no synthetic additives. It is free of petroleum-based products and animal fats, unlike most of the other soaps and shower gels on the market. Following the advent of petroleum-based soaps during the 1970s, the majority of the traditional savonneries in Salon-de-Provence and Marseille went out of business. Tours are still given of the graceful Belle Époque mansions in Salon’s Quartier des Savonniers, which were once owned by prosperous soap manufacturers but now house a variety of municipal offices. This know-how, patience, and rigor are the rules which allow the Marius Fabre soap factory to produce a Marseilles soap of peerless quality.

Ideal for transporting your bar of soap, the Marius Fabre aluminum box is resistant to humidity and water. Light and compact, it will accompany you on all your trips by slipping very easily into your suitcase or your travel bag. Jean-Pierre Denne of Marius Fabre is one of only three soap-makers in France who has the right to call himself a maître de savon, and the title took him 15 years to earn. At Fabre, this know-how is shared from one generation to the next – Denne studied under another master and in turn is training his own apprentice, who must also earn his title.

Both our cubes and our soap flakes are recommended in the laundry for all your delicates (baby clothes, fragile fabrics: wool, silk and lace, etc.). Our Marseille soap is made from 100% vegetable oils, without palm oil, without coloring, without perfume, without preservatives, without animal fats or products derived from petrochemicals. Marseille soap with olive oil is also “extra pure” because, during the washing stage, it is freed from all impurities. In 1927, Fabre moved the ever-expanding business to a larger premises in the centre of town, where it remains today, and acquired three enormous open-air cauldrons to use for the soap’s ten-day cooking process. These cauldrons, which are still in use at Marius Fabre, distinguish the real Savon de Marseille from those brands which would claim to be genuine. Marius Fabre Marseille soap is "Extra pure", that is to say that it is free of all impurities and takes care of all skin types, in particular the most sensitive (eczema, psoriasis, etc.). Marseille soap with olive oil brings its nourishing properties and thus helps to reduce the dryness of the skin. Demand the logo registered by the Union of Soap Professionals of Marseille! This logo guarantees you an authentic Marseille soap, made according to three essential criteria : That’s why Julie and Marie, along with the three other remaining authentic manufacturers of true Savons de Marseille, have instigated a movement to win the right to add an IGP ( Indication Géographique Protégée) label. This would guarantee that the soaps bearing the label have no added fragrance, colour or additives; follow the specific 1673 manufacturing process; and that they’re made in or around Marseille. Although Marius Fabre already carry the prestigious EPV (Enterprise du Patrimoine Vivant, or Living Heritage Company) designation, the company have no way of educating the public about their products, except through their factory museum and tours of their original Salon-de-Provence facility. Since the 1980s, a surge in interest in environmentally-sound and gentle, healthy products for the body have caused people to take a second look at Savon de Marseille, which has resulted in a resurgence. Marius Fabre’s pure and natural soaps are once again highly sought after.
