About this deal

The Beatles: Get Back will be released on a Blu-Ray Collector’s Set and DVD this summer, it has been announced today (May 17). It covers the making of the Beatles' 1970 album Let It Be (which had the working title of Get Back) and draws largely from unused footage and audio material originally captured for and recycled original footage from the 1970 documentary of the album by Michael Lindsay-Hogg. In November, an animated video was shared for the remastered version of The Beatles' track 'I'm Only Sleeping'.

After recording 10 songs during a single studio session for their debut album, the Beatles released 'Please Please Me' in March, 1963. To add to its success, the motion picture of the same name, released in tandem, won a Grammy Award for for the Best Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or Television Special.

The doc featured many musicians who've recorded music at the studios over the years - including Sir Paul, of course. The famous George/ Paulexchange at Twickenham (“Whatever you want me to play, I’ll play it…”) is shown here at full length, and proves to be the emotional and conceptual heart of the film; part of a much wider debate about how to move the Beatles forwards as a group, while asserting the personalities of the individuals. Starr said: "There was hours and hours of us just laughing and playing music, not at all like the Let It Be film that came out [in 1970].

Due to many of the tracks incorporating sounds that were only achievable through technology, the album has been described as yet another monumental, and musical, step forward for the group. The album hit the Number 1 spot on the UK Charts, topping the Record Retailer's LP Chart for 30 weeks - an extraordinary achievement for a pop album during this time. Featuring for the first time in its entirety The Beatles last live performance as a group, the unforgettable rooftop concert on London’s Saville Row as well as classic compositions.

Released in August 1966, the album includes historic tracks such as 'Yellow Submarine', 'Good Day Sunshine' and 'Here, There and Everywhere'. Also featured - for the first time in its entirety - is The Beatles' last live performance as a group - the unforgettable rooftop concert on London's Savile Row - as well as other songs and classic compositions featured on the band's final two albums, Abbey Road and Let It Be.

It is mouth wash for the horrible depiction of the same moment in time that Michael Lindsey-Hogg so inaccurately depicted and left as a bad taste in our mouths. The release was preceded by the publication of a book of the same name – the first official book credited to the band since The Beatles Anthology (2000) – featuring an introduction by Hanif Kureishi. Director Michael Lindsay-Hogg tries to persuade the Beatles to end the project with an impressive live show. However, the last statement is opposed by Andy Welch of The Guardian in his review of the documentary, who remarks: "Yoko didn't break up the Beatles.Ringo also collaborated with Pearl Jam musician Eddie Vedder to create the song 'Mrs Mills' for his 'Earthling' album which came out in February 2022. Talking about how the documentary was made by a fan, for the fans, he added: “I’m certainly a Beatles fan. a b "Legendary Rooftop Concert From Peter Jackson's Docuseries "The Beatles: Get Back" To Make Theatrical Debut Exclusively In IMAX®".
