About this deal

Here at Electric Teeth to try and give a benchmark for comparison, we like to price the brush over a 3 year period. Just be aware that bristles really only need to skim the teeth. Only a little brushing force is needed. More scrubbing pressure does not equal a better clean. Electric toothbrushes are clinically proven to be superior to manual toothbrushes, providing benefits in removing more plaque for cleaner teeth and healthier gums. Oral-Belectric toothbrushes remove up to 100% more plaque than a regular manual brush, which is why they are recommended by UK dentists and hygienists. Oral-B electric rechargeable toothbrushes (from Pro 600 model upwards) also whiten teeth starting from day one by removing surface stains. Electric toothbrushes are suitable from ages 3+, with specific kids electric toothbrush models available, and are gentle on gums and suitable for sensitive teeth. Electric rechargeable toothbrushes come with replacement toothbrush heads, which should be replaced every three months. Holes in the white plastic body of the case allow the handle and heads inside to remain ventilated and help dry out any moisture.

The differences aside from the name relate to the colour of the grip on the brush handle, the brush head supplied in the box and the pattern printed on the travel case. With some variants you will get a design printed on the case. This is a leafy pattern and is typically pink or blue in colour. It makes the case stand out a little more and be a little less boring. It's common knowledge these days, but everyone is recommended to spend two full minutes cleaning their teeth. As a nod to this, the Oral-B Pro 2 2500 provides an audible warning via a slight pause in the brush motor every 30 seconds. This acts as a cue during brushing for you to change your focus between the four different quadrants in your gob: upper right, upper left, lower right and lower left. It’s a nice touch that works really well.

The best Oral-B electric toothbrushes to buy in 2023

When charging the battery charging icon flashes green and it will stop flashing and go out when the brush is fully charged.

Otherwise, it has the same tech and the same key strengths as the iO Series 6 and iO Series 9, giving you a smoother brush with less vibration than the older Genius models, yet still delivering an excellent ‘fresh from the dentists’ clean. You also get the same pressure sensor and timer, the same two weeks plus battery life, and the same OLED display and app-connected features. Given that the differences between this brush and the Series 9 are minor, the Series 8 makes a pretty strong case for itself as the best Oral-B brush to buy. You should imagine your mouth broken up into 4 sections. Upper right, upper left, lower right and lower left. The idea is that you spend 30 seconds cleaning each section. The pacer helps you keep an even brushing time on these 4 sections. Together these add up to the 2 minute total. I’m happy to start using this brush and I got it as a Birthday present. It’s a pink one but that’s fine by me, I dont care about the colour too much and Pink is Cool! Regular price 100€ and it was on sale for 50€, good price, fair price for sure. It’s not a cheapo value electric toothbrush, but also not a high-high end one. No need to get a high end one, In my opinion. Reply This is the only mode/function button. It turns the brush on and off. It doesn’t change the cleaning modes, because there is only the 1 mode. It is fairly basic, but perfectly functional. It will hold the brush handle and up to 2 brush heads. This protects them from getting damaged or the handle accidentally activated when in transit.Because of my bad experience with the Oral-B battery I initially wanted to buy a Philips Sonicare DiamondClean but the ones with all bells and whistles (Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart HX9924/03) was more than twice as expensive as the Genius 9000. So at the end a bought a couple of Oral-B PRO 2 2000N ’s and one Oral-B Genius 9000N to see how the very best and best value differ in daily use. Our in-house dentists believe 3 features should be present in a good electric toothbrush. The Pro 2 2000 has them all. The timer and pacer help you to brush for the right amount of time That doesn’t mean there are any reasons for concern. Oral-B have a longstanding history of toothbrush production and know the areas of weakness and have done what they can to mitigate issues. Kids/Junior series: Variations of the Vitality, Pro and Smart Series brushes aimed at kids and teens. Often slightly smaller and featuring favourite characters or more colourful designs. Sensitive is great for those who want to enjoy a less intense cleaning action, or for those days your teeth or gums might feel a little more tender. It pairs really well with the softer bristled Sensi UltraThin brush head. In fact, if you are a new electric brush user, you might like to begin using the Pro 1 with this mode to ease yourself into the additional power on offer.

I don’t think whitening does all that much. Yes, it uses the power of the brush motor differently, but truth be told the cleaning results over all 3 modes are comparable if you master your brushing technique. Don’t think you are going to use whitening mode and any dull yellow teeth will shine like a diamond within a few days. At best it’s going to lift some external stains on the tooth surface, but any mode can do this. Up to’ feels a bit vague. Given that there is only 1 cleaning mode, what changes that it might achieve less? Well the brushing time is usually what causes the variance, but the standard brushing time is 2 minutes, or at least it should be. Using for longer than 3 months can potentially result in the head not cleaning as well and even doing damage to the teeth and gums. The first thing we should note about the Pro 2 2500’s cleaning performance is its “Sensitive mode” which can be accessed by double pressing the on button. This actions the motor to deliver fewer movements per second to the brush head, offering a far less intensive brushing experience. This is ideal if you have sensitive teeth and gums, or would like to prevent your gum line from receding. The handle houses all the electronics. They are sealed inside. It has a pretty nice design overall. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly it has not been designed to be easily repaired by yourself. Trying to replace parts like the battery will likely break the brush. This makes it more likely to be discarded rather than repaired if broken. If you’re not bothered with the whole idea of apps and smart toothbrushes, then the iO Series 3 is amazing value and, arguably, the best brush in Oral-B’s whole range. It boasts the same magnetic drive technology as the other brushes in Oral-B’s flagship iO-Series range, but comes without the advanced sensors and Bluetooth connectivity to monitor your brushing and send the data to your smartphone. In practice, that means a quieter brush with a more comfortable vibration, and one that still leaves your incisors feeling polished and your molars super-clean, as well as doing a fantastic job of clearing plaque from between your teeth. Up to a point. Oral-B’s CrossAction, FlossAction, Precision Clean, Sensi and 3D White brush heads work across brushes in the Vitality, Pro, Smart and Genius lines, but iO Series brushes have their own specific Ultimate Clean and Gentle Care heads. What features are worth paying extra for? So whilst it is a useful feature, the fact that it is hard to spot or realise it is even activated is a negative. The Pro 3 3500 has the visible sensor, which is much easier to detect.

You may also see the Pro 1 750 referred to as Pro 1 750 Design Edition, this is because the 750 comes with the added bonus of a travel case that will hold the handle and up to 2 brush heads. But, it comes down to versatility. Not all of us have a power outlet in our bathroom for frequent recharging. If you go away on holiday for a week or 2, you don’t really want to have to take the charging stand or worry that your brush will run out of power. This 3D White brush head is focused on helping buff the teeth to a nice shine and speed up the removal of any surface staining you may have on the exterior surfaces. I like the slim and grippy handle. The 2 week battery life is satisfactory and, most importantly, it does a good job of cleaning your teeth. I really like the clean the brush offers, I have little in the way of complaint here. My teeth and gums felt clean after every use.The Pro 1 680 has just 1 cleaning mode. Called Daily Clean, this is the standard mode found on all Oral-B brushes.
