About this deal

It is recommended that Sentinel X300 Cleaner for New Systems is used in accordance with standard cleaning and commissioning protocols such as BSRIA Guide “Pre-Commission Cleaning of Pipework Systems” or similar Water Treatment Guidelines from industry organisations such as the Industrial & Commercial Energy Association (ICOM). Sentinel X400 High Performance Cleaner should be circulated, preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned to maximum flow for a minimum period of 3 hours.

In this scenario, your customer may struggle to understand how the system could possibly need cleaning. New systems can easily succumb to debris during and after installation as a result of carelessness in the manufacture and installation processes. If a system has not been cleaned prior to use, all of the aforementioned issues for new systems will be present, with the installation debris causing issues and damage to the system. Sometimes a more general clean is required, aimed at removing iron oxide and limescale deposits from pipework, heat exchangers and radiators. X800 Fast Acting Cleaner is ideal for these purposes, designed for use in conjunction with powerflushing equipment, but also proving a highly effective cleaner when manually flushed, too. It is effective both hot and cold. When might I need Deposit Remover? litre, 1 300ml aerosol or 1 275ml tube of Sentinel X400 High Performance Cleaner is sufficient to treat a typical domestic system of up to 10 radiators. Larger systems should be dosed with twice this amount. Rapid cleaning may be carried out if Sentinel X400 is used in conjunction with a power-flushing device.External flushing rig: Feed the product in an area of adequate flow in the buffer tank. Follow the machine manufacturer’s instructions. Recommended dosage: 1 litre of X300 is sufficient to treat a typical domestic system of up to 10 radiators. Circulate from 1 hour to 7 days for maximum performance. It is recommended that Sentinel X400 High Performance Cleaner is used in accordance with standard cleaning and commissioning protocols such as BSRIA Guide “Pre-Commission Cleaning of Pipework Systems” or similar Water Treatment Guidelines from industry organisations such as the Industrial & Commercial Energy Association (ICOM). When using concentrate gel, add directly to the heating system either via a radiator air bleed valve, or via the fill loop using the appropriate adaptor and a suitable caulk gun.

Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner eliminates magnetite and limescale deposits from heat exchangers, radiators, underflor heating floors and pipework. It restores more uniform distribution of heat in existing installations, for a better heated home and reduced energy bills. Sentinel X400 High Performance Cleaner should normally be dosed at 1% of system volume, i.e. 1 litre per 100 litres of system water. For systems with severe fouling, the dosage rate can be increased up to 5%.

The solution

Flush the system before refilling and treating with Sentinel X100 Inhibitor or Sentinel X500 Inhibited Antifreeze. quart of Sentinel X400 is sufficient to treat a typical residential system of 25 gallon. Larger systems should be dosed at 1% of system water. To clean an existing system, Sentinel X400 should be circulated, preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned to maximum flow for a minimum period of 2 hours or until satisfactory performance is restored. For details of how to dose using the Rapid-Dose format of this product, please watch the Rapid-Dose video. The circulation pump of the system can be used to circulate the Sentinel X400 System Restorer solution; however equipment which provides a more rapid circulation can provide a more effective clean. When using an external cleaning rig, the product can be dosed directly to the buffer tank of the rig (follow equipment manufacturer’s instructions).

Not sure what cleaner is best for the job? We’ve created a handy cleaner comparison to help you choose the right cleaner for your system. Why?A build-up of magnetite sludge and corrosion debris can cause cold spots in radiators and uneven heat distribution. Cleaning an old system before8 installing a new component such as a boiler or circulation pump prolongs the effective life of the new component reducing maintenance and replacement costs.

About the problem

To clean an older system in accordance with BS 7593, this product should be circulated (preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned to maximum flow) for a minimum period of 2 hours or until satisfactory performance is restored. Use in conjunction with a powerflushing device to achieve a more rapid clean. Sentinel X300 Cleaner for New Systems should be circulated, preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned to maximum flow for a minimum period of 3 hours. If it is not possible to heat the water, the circulation time should be extended to at least 24 hours. After cleaning, the system should be drained and flushed until the water runs clear. On refilling, the system should be treated with Sentinel X100 Inhibitor or Sentinel X500 Inhibited Antifreeze.
