Once you’ve successfully linked your extender and router, get a wireless device that can connect to the extender WiFi. A second ethernet lead, to connect the POE injector to the WiFi access point (this supplies power and a connection to the internet router via one cable)

Note: If your extender supports AP mode, you will be prompted to select how you would like to setup your extender. Select the “ Wi-Fi Range Extender” button.

When the bridge is first connected to power you should see all the indicator lights on the side turn on briefly, this shows it is receiving power. If the link LED is OFF, the extender failed to connect to the router Wi-Fi network, please repeat steps 1-3 to try again. The orange repeater light on the Comfast WiFi extender is blinking and it is not connecting to the network. Slide the port cover off the bottom end of the WiFi access point, then connect one end of the long ethernet lead to the port on the POE injector marked 'POE' and connect that to the port marked 'WAN' on the WiFi access point.

This WiFi access point sends a 2.4GHz WiFi signal, which allows WiFi cameras to easily connect to it, as well as any other WiFi devices that have compatibility issues with 5GHz devices.

You’ll also need to repeat the process for the 5GHz band as well. Once this is done, the range extender is linked to the router on both Wi-Fi bands, and this allows the range extender to act as a kind of relay so that your computers and mobile devices in rooms that normally have poor Wi-Fi can now link to your router via the range extender. 6. Reset the extender by pressing and holding the reset button for 10 seconds using a paper clip or pin. You can also see that the range extender is transmitting its own wi-fi signals - again on the 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz bands - called TP-Link_Extender_2.4GHz and TP-Link_Extender_5GHz. Take the first panel and run an Ethernet lead from the WAN port to the POE port on the power supply, then take a cable from the LAN port directly to your compute r.
