About this deal

This definitely won't be the perfume for everyone, I can see if even being too much for fans of the original but so far I'm really enjoying it!

If you loved the original Olympea then you’re sure to love this; it’s just as feminine and alluring. It definitely has a fresher, sweeter take (thanks to the addition of frozen fruit sorbet and delicate rose petals) while the musky-vanilla trail echoes the creaminess of its predecessor. Nevertheless, Legend still has saltiness. The combintion of very sweet vanilla, salt and sour plum gives me the feeling of a Butter flavoured pop-corn from Estrella, which can be bought across the Europe (cant speak for other continents). Like a feeling of a slightly turned milk butter, which has been left on a table in 30C for a day or so. This sour plum accord doesn't do any good for the scent. However...it does lose that edge after half an hour or so, thankfully. It's not truly ambery to me at all. Not the labdanum/vanilla/resinous kind, or the inexpensive, neo-ambers of Bath & Body Works, Victoria's Secret, mainstream designers or celebrity scents. It's difficult to explain, but I could never describe this as actually being like any type of amber at all, it's kind of a salty, vanilla haze. Again, somewhat smoggy and dense, but it's like a nebulous cloud of a sythentic, (I don't hate stuff based on artificiality, I do like a great deal of things that clearly aren't naturalistic) perfume-y rendition of dulce de leche. I'm really struggling to break this down into a coherent review, the effect is rather ineffable. It also does smell far cheaper than the price tag. I got this on a whim, not that I needed another bottle to top up the other couple of hundreds waiting to be worn. But an addict is always an addict, and something in this bottle screamed “take me home “. personally this is very long lasting, its sweet for me, i dont mid sweet, but to feel good about owning it i would sell off or swap some of my other sweet fragrances for sure

Olympéa Legend

Such a shame, because the notes are intriguing. I've never seen a salty perfume that wasn't supposed to evoke the beach. I know this smell!! as soon as i smelled it. possibly similarities to Tresor Love Midnight? Not the same smell but there was a note in there.. I prefer the Tresor. Olympéa Blossom is nice enough, I wouldn't mind to smell it on someone, but due to the soapy and chaotic mid phase it's nothing I would want to wear myself. The bottle is the best part of this, in my opinion it's the prettiest in the whole collection. It is very sweet, much sweeter than others Olympeas, even Intense one. Legend does not have this "marine" sort of vibe, which is the most attractive and uncommon thing in other Olympeas (for me). It really has its complexity and you can only appreciate when it dries down and fusions with your skin. It's not a love at first sniff kind of scent because to me is TOTALLY different the opening vs the drydown... I can say with no doubt that this Intense version gets SO MUCH better with time.

I just sprayed it on my skin and now I understand what people meant by salty-oceany vibes. It’s pretty decent on my skin. Nothing amazing. It just smells like this weird synthetic note mixed with vanilla and sweetness. I feel like this scent is more mature than the og Olympea and it’s a very strange scent. Upon smelling it at the atomizer I don’t even know what I am smelling. It’s a weird synthetic note. (EDIT: I love that synthetic note now. It’s the salt. I just didn’t know what I was smelling) I recommend this specially for winter and fall, but I can also imagine myself or others wearing it as a beach scent or after a beach day, with marine climate or a little windy weather (not with an exaggerated heat and humidity in the air). At the evening in summer with no extreme weather it would be perfect. And if you tolerate it in the opening, you will enjoy its development. The ONLY exception: NOT compatible with extreme heat or extreme humidity, but it performs and fits better in a little colder weather.

Will you be claiming the VAT back?

In the opening, I perceive orange blossom, vanilla, lots of salt and amber, but in a VERY STRANGE WAY... it's not unpleasant but it's... Strange. I don't know how to explain it... It's like it's so salty but so sweet but has kind of an artificial sweet note (I suppose it's amber mixed with the other notes). At this moment I could say I don't like the fragrance that much, and can be overly sweet or overwhelming for many people. I don't get nauseous or any headache like some people say, but if you're sensitive to perfumes and certain type of smells, keep in mind that. It smells like salted caramel (emphasis on salted) with dried fruits ontop. Maybe dried apricots or dried plums. Delicious! It’s so sweet and delicious but also salty at the same time. It also has a waxy syrupy salted caramel candle vibe! I also get whiffs of a sandy smell. So imagine you are sitting on hot sand next to the waves eating a vanilla ice cream cone that has a generous amount of salted caramel sauce on-top, and you’re eating canned peaches or apricots on the side. If you love sweet and salty you will love this one! 🍮🧂🍑🏖️ Now for the scent: It's floral and fruity but not in a baby-pink-sweet-good-girl way like many other floral-fruity perfumes (like armani si fiori -WHICH I LOVE BTW), it's more strong, condfident, not shy. it's a fuchsia pink - you enter the room and "HERE I AM WITH MY FLORAL-FRUITY SCENT BITCH-ESSSS" (I hope you get what I mean XD). When you wear it you truly feel like a queen of bitches going on her way to mess the town, like no one can mess with you. but still, a girly-friendly-bitch, not a cold bitch. to me it smells just like the bottle looks. The face of the perfume is Brazilian model Luma Grothe. The bottle is shaped like a laurel crown, designed by Marc Ange. The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 80 ml Eau de Parfum. Olympea intense is a very elegant and addictive fragrance . Though it's a vanilla based fragrance , it's not too sweet . You can call it salty-vanilla fragrance . On the opening , I get citrusy touch because of the cedar and then after few minutes I get the fresh amber , orange blossom and salty caramel altogether which is really outstanding. This is neither sweet nor bitter fragrance. This is actually an excellent blend of amber , caramel , salt which you can also get in the dry down. A sensual warm fragrance for women who love vanilla based fragrances.

Compliments: First time I wore it (I was actually out of the store after buying this with this scent on me and sprayed a bit more) I got to meet my friends and got tones of compliments on my smell (from guys and girls, EVERYONE SMELLED THIS and a guy that doesn't usually give compliments asked me "YOU SMELL GOOD, WHAT ARE YOU WEARING??"). I blind bought this because I am a big amber lover. With such simple notes I couldn't imagine much going wrong. I have tried "olympea" in the past and wasn't really impressed as the salt note was too salty for me. Also, there was a girl in my class who wore it every day so I became overwhelmed by the smell. It says sorbet on the notes that might get some people thinking Escada or other summer fragrances, but actually, when the scent settles, it's quite fresh, even maritime with a distinct salt note in common with the original. I've had it for a week, only wore it twice because I was only in the mood to wear it twice and I took advantage of it. It made me feel... gross, nauseated when I first smelled it out of the bottle, I refused to spray it on my skin.. The longevity of this is really good, I can smell it at least 12 hours on my skin. And I find that this is a strong perfume, it projects a lot so I have to spray mindfully when I wear this. It doesn’t smell immediately beachy in the beginning. Just pleasantly sweet and pointedly fresh and clean in a fruity dryer sheet type of way which I’m finding I am quite partial to. With wear, it begins to bloom. The ginger warms things up and mixes with the deep, rich plum. The warm, spiced plum becomes syrupy to the point of being almost boozy in purely evocative manner. The salt note is strong and permeates the fragrance thoroughly. Creamy vanilla blends everything together.

I also don't think it's the plumb by itself as other fragrances I have smelt with plumb don't smell like this. Maybe it's the mixture of plumb to musk but I am unsure..I will continue to edit this as I figure the damn thing out, lol. I will persist!!! And the REASON I will persist... is because when I wore it, and I wore it to work, I got major compliments, and the scent sillage and longevity was real.Where cashmere wood gave the original a sense of smoothness and luxury in the drydown, the amber note has been placed to replicate that feeling, however it's failed to. What you will smell in the drydown is a smooth, citrus floral, buttery vanilla with a hint of salt. There is some ambergris, but it is more noticeable on paper than skin. Ripe salted plum, peppered rose petals, smooth bourbon vanilla... I think on the right woman this could be very seductive and sexy. It's got a really weird oily/resinous note to my nose that I'm not seeing mentioned. If I could smell the note individually, it would probably make more sense but it had too much of a strange, "oily body" note to it. This opens very similarly to the Victoria’s Secret perfume Love which also mixes a dry, fresh note (cotton) with a stone fruit note (apricot). In the case of Olympea there is the addition of plum and the dry, fresh notes are salt and sand. The orange flower note that was barely noticeable in the opening is very much at work in the mid and dry down.
