Flash Gordon has no right to be so damn good; on paper it is a combination of some of the worst dialogue, storytelling, acting, casting, and producing, and yet somehow, unbelievably - fused to the most inappropriately appropriate score for any mainstream movie - it just works. The speeder chase in Attack of the Clones is a standout and demonstrates the improvements HDR can offer. The same compression of streaming services does clip the quality and streams often don’t include the same higher quality Dolby Atmos soundtracks. William’s score is piped through all the speakers, there is genuine separation of the instruments with clear layering to the music, be it the opening fanfare or some less dramatic. Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Box Set – Limited Edition (27 discs) featuring all 9 Saga movies on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and Bonus discs (Blu-ray) for every movie in a special collector’s set.We did notice the films looked a lot more natural on 4K when compared with the Blu-rays which tended to be warmer with a more reddish tinge to the image. What the 4K discs revealed were details we didn’t know were there even though we’ve watched them hundreds of times. The UHD disc reviewed comes as part of the ‘Skywalker Saga’ set which is a lavish box set and included is a collector’s book, that houses all the discs (careful as you remove them! I saw the film three more times in its first run, though not in such auspicious surroundings, my venue of choice was the ABC Cinema in Ewell (most famed for being used by the Comic Strip crew in their short, Dirty Movie) as it was just a short walk from my then grandparents’ house.

However, Disney tells me that The Last Jedi and Solo 4K will be coming in the new packaging at a later date (one that’s still TBA). Disney and Lucasfilm have officially announced the digital and home release dates for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.It’s the first time we’ve see the Prequel Trilogy on 4K and look impressive but despite being made more recently they don’t match the amazing quality of the Original Trilogy. Even though the film was released back in 2015, this is the first time we’ve seen the 4K disc release and it was definitely worth waiting for. But what was also amazing was how much the HDR improved the image and showed off shapes and objects in the shadows we normally would have missed.
