About this deal

The drawers take quite a shove to pull open, so it's pretty much a two-handed affair and, while the metal trays in the bottom of each bay are dishwasher-friendly and can be removed very easily, they do fall out when you come to empty your food out. However, while dual-drawer air fryers were once a novelty, there are now a range of options available from other top brands, leaving the Salter Dual Digital air fryer with plenty of competition. We have to say that the manual controls are a little confusing with lots of buttons for dedicated cooking modes, such as seafood, chips, fish and meat. We decided to try air frying roast potato wedges; we simply sliced up our spuds before popping them in the fryer and pressing the correct setting.

The fryer also comes with a temperature probe so you can check how hot your bakes are and if they are fully cooked (we also think this is a great tool to use with meat and fish). It makes it almost impossible to forget you’ve left something in the oven while Coronation Street is on. It means you can still achieve that deep-fried effect you're probably craving after healthy eating, without that unhealthy aftertaste. The air fryers have all managed to give us very individual findings and different experiences to share. Having taken the chicken out and keeping it warm in foil, I added my roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli and Yorkshire puds, and in no time, my whole roast was complete. One of the most popular foods to air fry is potatoes with different options for chips, potato wedges and roast potatoes.

However, it should be noted that we’ve routinely found it available for much less, either due to sales and discounts. The drawers are narrower than your average air fryer drawer, which meant less surface area for achieving an even air fry on the chips. It’s quite a beast, but if you use an air fryer all of the time, cook large portions (or for lots of people) and want quality results each time, then there’s nothing better than this model.

The main negative was the space it takes up in the kitchen — the XL large family size fryer I tried is massive and I wasn’t sure where to put it! The air fryer hype doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon, and for those of us keen to refresh, reset and kickstart a healthier lifestyle as well as save on energy bills thanks to its low wattage, getting the Salter Dual Air Fryer appliance could be your saviour. You simply need to spray or pour a little oil onto whatever you’re cooking before switching on the appliance – although you don’t always have to use oil if you don’t want to.That’s hugely flexible, and we found that this air fryer made short work of all dinners, letting us cook two different parts of the dinner to finish at the same time, or just increase the total capacity for one part. Performance was on the whole good: chips were nicely browned and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Kitchen countertop space is a precious commodity, so if you’re considering the Salter Dual Air Fryer, be aware of how much space it takes up. litres of food (enough for a chicken, according to Ninja) – that’s also a similar capacity to some of the smaller air fryers available. The ‘extra large’ air fryer is around two thirds oven space, and one third screen which offers 10 auto programmes that include pizza, rotisserie and dehydrating.

From the frying rack to the top of the drawer, it measures 12cm, with space underneath the rack for the air to circulate and catch any crumbs from food. With a higher-than-average temperature option of 230C, rather than the usual 200C, the Sage the Smart Oven Air Fry can cook food faster than many other air fryers, although it does take a bit longer to heat up.The oven can also employ its Element iQ tech to direct power where it’s needed to eliminate cold spots in food.
