I just found the first-person telling-not-showing writing and the insta-smash relationship to be so utterly off-putting that I started to resent every minute I spent with these characters. I went into this one blind, like I always try to do with her books, and I was overcome with all I felt. The short version of this review is that this book is a good version of exactly the type of book it’s aiming to be. It’s also worth noting that, while Kenna’s character is rehabilitated, she still made big mistakes and is not the most likable protagonist (if that matters to you).However, Ledger apologizes and shows them a letter that Kenna wrote about how much she loved Scotty and it explains that she didn't intentionally leave Scotty there to die like they'd previously believed.

An exceedingly well-executed marriage-in-crisis accompanies a heartbreaking story with a fabulous ending in Colleen Hoover's All Your Perfects. And I certainly wouldn't be surprised if those two groups ended up overlapping, with the same readers feeling both. Probably not, depending on the circumstances, but the way they treated her at points was just ridiculous.Reminders of Him was a thoughtful and poignant story of a woman who was dealt one too many bad hands in life, making a way for herself in the shattered remainders of the life stolen from her. The main conflict in Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover is whether Kenna will reunite with her daughter, Diem, after her 5-year stint in prison for a crime she committed while she was pregnant with her.

Kenna - There's a thing between me and CoHo heroines where I don't particularly like them that much, I only feel for them through their situations rather than their personalities (except for miss verity, she is and will always be an icon, a legend, and the moment evil villain or not). At the time of Kenna's trial, she didn't know she was pregnant, otherwise she wouldn't have pleaded guilty. Kenna leaves the bar though not without having Ledger run after her to tell her to come back that night. I still don't know if what happened between us the first night you showed up at my bar was authentic, or if it was all an act to get to Diem. Kenna had been unable to find their cell phones, so she left the scene on foot to find help, but had been disoriented from her own injuries.This is a genuine story of young newlyweds, and the years of discovery still going on between these two beloved characters. Since her literary debut in 2011 (she published her first novel at her own expense), Colleen Hoover has become one of the most prolific and commercially successful romance novelists of the new millennium. Throughout the whole book I felt as if Scotty was developed more as a character/love interest than Ledger, circumstance brought Kenna and Ledger together with a sprinkle of lust.
