Finlay is a struggling suspense novelist whose life is going down the tubes in about every single way. I think Julian had the most chemistry with her, but I liked the development of the relationship with nick. I’m not sure that the choice of form is a conscious one so much as percolation of random thoughts, images, and ideas until the premise grabs me by the throat and I can see the story, the world, and the characters in my mind. When Finlay’s ex-husband Steven and her mother insist on tagging along too, Finlay and Vero suddenly have a few too many meddlesome passengers along for the ride.i think it made finlay a great character and her relationship with vero is amazing - they make such a great team! Not long after that, she is kneeling in a field in the middle of the night with the cold steel of a gun pressed against the back of her head. There were a few little things I had predicted but it definitely did not take away from my enjoyment level at all. You never want to be the asshole that leaves a message promising to kill someone for being late, only to find out they've already been murdered. Finn snoops around and discovers that not only is Feliks one of Theresa’s clients, but she may also be sleeping with him.
