About this deal

It is slid over the thread and the other end twisted tight by putting a nail or something similar into the hole and turning.

Finding a tap set genuinely capable of operating at very low pressure is your only hope without installing a pump. When closed, the slots in the upper disc are covered by the unslotted portion of the lower disc, and no water flows. I always groan when I see a monobloc soldered in because it becomes such a pain to get it out again and after cutting it out you usually have to do a fair bit of rearranging of the pipework to put in the replacement. If you bend them back and forward too many times, the copper hardens up and won't bend any more, or may even fracture. The 10mm feed pipes screw into the underside of the tap and are then machined out to become 15mm copper tails ready for the connection of 15mm feeds. If you do not have any isolation valves handy to cut off the water supply while you carry out your work then you will have to ensure that the water is turned off.

As said never use a pipe slice on the copper tails the pipes are to soft, use junior hacksaw a file the end smooth if you use push fit. The condemnation and imposition of sanctions on Russia and Belarus in response to Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine will have enormous implications and an impact on global trade, particularly on commodities, for years to come. Ensure that any compression fittings are tightened up sufficiently and you can then turn back on the water or open any isolation valves. With the washer in place the nuts can now be tightened onto the threaded bar and this is where the DIY enthusiast struggles. When fitting these taps (especially on stainless steel sinks), I'd like to do away with the flexi's in favour of copper tails to give the tap some stability. The monoblock is a very clever piece of design technology which allows both the hot and cold feed to enter the base, or block of the tap. The copper tails that are supplied with monoblock taps are not designed to be cut (which is why they crushed when you tried the pipeslice on them).

The ideal arrangement is to have two pushfit elbows to connect the tails to horizontal pipes (and then to isovalves etc). Some of our partners may process your data as a part of their legitimate business interest without asking for consent. Some cheap monoblock kitchen taps come with thin copper tails but does anyone know where I can get hold of some decent quality ones? A large, flat rubber washer is placed on the underside of the basin and this has holes in it which should line up with the holes in the monoblock. It has M10 connections and the flexi tails included - but they look like they will still be restricting flow somewhat as the aperture of the tails is pretty small especially at the compression nut end.
