About this deal

While its level of protection isn't disclosed, it does come with overload and short-circuiting protection, and the whole thing is made of premium flame-resistant materials that are RoHS-certified. Computers, laptops, printers and other office devices and electronics are welcome, but it's safe for home use as well, especially with its built-in safety outlet cover to protect kids and pets.

Very few manufacturers are willing to risk money to meet their sales promises. TrippLite is one exception. They offer lifetime exchange warranty on many of their products, as well as an insurance coverage for most of their surge suppressors. Insurance amounts vary according to the model. There are two swappable pairs of handles (5 lbs & 10 lbs) and no adder weights. Changing the weight is even faster on this set because you don’t have to take the time to insert or remove the adder weights. You change the selector pin setting and/or swap the handles. Admittedly, 11kg isn’t really heavy enough to make good progress on the bigger movements, such as squats and pressing, but incorporating the weights into higher-rep or slow tempo sessions reaped solid rewards in the form of burning muscles and aching limbs a day or so afterwards. The Elite dumbbells have a more basic construction, featuring powder coated steel plates with a welded construction. While sturdy, this is less durable compared to the urethane plates and non-welded “flex” design on the Pro Series. If you want to maximize the range of motion for your hand/wrist/forearm inside the dumbbell handle. The open handle design and wedge handle shape give the Pro EXP more usable space inside the handle than on any other home-use model.

It comes with a stand included, which has room for both dumbbells as well as the extra pair of handles.Ideally, the best way to charge your devices when traveling would be by using an AC power outlet directly, charging in your vehicle, or using a portable charger (power bank). We love a good extension tower, especially when it's very affordable, and this one from Tessan is definitely a shoo-in. It offers 1,700 joules of protection, which is pretty high and will keep your pricey laptop or computer from frying. And it has light indicators to indicate that the surge and ground protection are working, giving you that extra peace of mind. It does have eight AC outlets, two on each side, and each pair has its on/off button to help save energy and help you save money on your energy bill. Plus there are three USB Type-A and one USB-C ports. The only thing is that those ports are only on one side so anyone needing access to them would have to do some sort of maneuvering, especially if there are several electronics and devices already plugged in. However, if you’re still having trouble deciding, I’ll lay out when I think it makes sense to buy each model. I’ve also heard that the urethane used on the Pro EXP’s may be better than what was used on the U90s (e.g. it might be overall more durable and/or be better able to withstand hot/cold temps) — But don’t quote me on that, as I haven’t confirmed it.

If you want a lightweight and super portable dumbbell set that you can easily bring to different locations (e.g. the park, personal training clients’ homes). The Elite Series dumbbells are not compatible with any accessories. The only models besides the Pro EXP and Pro 50 that are compatible with any of these accessories are the Commercial Pro 90 and 50, as well as the discontinued U50/U70/U90 sets. Manufacturing As I’ve already mentioned, when discussing the Elite Series in this article, my focus is on the Elite USA rather than its Elite EXP counterpart. However, I’ll make an exception for this part of the article to discuss compatibility within the Elite Series line. Officially, the Elite EXP and Elite USA aren’t compatible. However, there’s a caveat to this: It can’t do micro-adjustments of 2.5 lbs since it doesn’t have adder weights. However, it can still do 5 lb increments which are small enough for most exercises most of the time. That said, they only offer one grip style, making it difficult to adopt a crush grip (two hands around the handle), nor can you grasp the ‘bell’ element of a traditional dumbbell when performing goblet sumo squats and the like. Each model has its own positives and negatives, described below, which makes choosing between the two such a difficult decision. It also has a surge protection of 1,050 joules - enough to protection your more expensive devices like a PC or a laptop. RoHS and FCC certified, it also has overload, short-circuit, over-current and over-voltage, and overheating protection. And it comes with a 6.5-foot pure copper cold. Buy the Pro 125 commercial set or Pro 175 commercial set, linked above. This may be price prohibitive, though, since the commercial sets are significantly more expensive than the home use models.

However, it would be foolish to make such an expensive investment without first attaining all the knowledge needed to make the correct choice. You can achieve 5 lb increments by swapping the handles as needed. This is a small enough increment for efficient strength progression for most lifters on most exercises. Sometimes 2.5 lb increments would be nice, but 5 lbs is quite reasonable. And again, you don’t have to worry about adder weights to get this increment. However, the Pro 50 is different from most non-expandable models. It does have adder weights, so you can adjust it as little as 2.5 lb increments. Adder WeightsI’ll only discuss the home-use Pro Series models (i.e. Pro EXP, Pro 50, Pro 24). I won’t discuss the Commercial Pro Series dumbbells, which cost A LOT more and are typically used in athletic training facilities. Side Rails: The colour bands on the rails correspond with the weight chart on the handle to show what will be selected. For the Elite Series, my focus will be on the Elite USA rather than the Elite EXP. Be sure to read my Elite USA vs Elite EXP article to learn the key differences between these two models.
