Although there's decision-making, the developer will stay true to the source material and says Gollum's fate is already "pretty-much determined" by the books, as the game is based on the original book license (not the movies). But even giving it the benefit of the doubt and assuming that its various problems will be solved before release, Gollum still feels like small potatoes compared to the vast, engrossing fantasy worlds other games offer in 2023. If this PC build was already struggling with many of the issues that frequently occur in Switch ports, we're certainly curious to see exactly how it will run when and if it finally arrives on a Nintendo console. For a game so close to release on other platforms, this demo felt remarkably unpolished. Also, the art in this game is magnificent. It makes pretty much every other card game look like amateur hour. The game follows the storylines from The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King. However, the game's developers modified the storylines to fit the events into a number of game chapters per film. Central events and sequences were recreated from the films, such as the Mines of Moria scenes. Each different character has at least one special ability. The characters can also add new items and weapons to their inventory as the story advances, thus adding role-playing elements to the traditional Lego gameplay. In the same interview, Daedalic confirmed that current-gen versions of The Lord of the Rings Gollum will put ray tracing front and center as a graphical feature. The developer has hinted that ray tracing could be used dynamically in the game’s level design. The following day, Gollum dispenses food in the Breeding Pits. He is taken to the Tower where he meets the Candle Man, who questions him. Gollum blames either a mine orc or himself. Gollum's life is spared.
