About this deal

I’ve heard a lot of things about Weston Cole. Popular. Conceited. Supercilious. He’s spent the last three years steadily dismantling my family’s legacy. I should hate him. And I did. Until I encountered him freshman year and discovered he’s also troubled. Captivating. Audacious. And when I come across him again senior year, it turns out that knowledge is even more dangerous than his suggestive smirk…

Kiss Now, Lie Later by C.W. Farnsworth One boy. One girl Kiss Now, Lie Later by C.W. Farnsworth One boy. One girl

What particularly peeved me that for all the intensity that the two opposing towns rivalry was depicted as - it only took a public loud drunken break-up, a heated apology, and a begrudging acceptance from Maeve's friends, to see that their rivalry was indeed petty, and that they truly were better off as friends and finding a balance between the two opposing sides. I think I was actually hoping for more drama or action to ensue after their relationship was brought to light - it felt very down-played and low-key, rather than the expectations of fear they had been harboring. Because, once their differences were settled, it mattered very little in the end, because when they do finally interact, it's apparent to everyone involved that there really is nothing that sets them apart from each other. 😔😔A torn attraction. A torn love, rippled by the bare hands of their loved ones. Maeve and Wes meet and the attraction starts their, even though they know of the disappointment and anger they would face from their rivaling towns. She’s from the wrong side of the field, and he’s playing the wrong sport, the opposing sport of her own twin. Piper Egan landed her dream job straight out of college—working at Empire Records. But instead of discovering new talent and changing lives, like she’d hoped, her time is spent taking meeting notes and catering to spoiled celebrities. When the chance to change that finally appears, she should be thrilled. Lastly, I wish I could have gotten to know Mauve's twin, Liam, a little better. Or he at least could have had more screen time. He's basically only mentioned in passing until the very end which I was sad about. To be such an important person in Mauve's life, we hardly ever see him. Problem is, neither of them is looking for a relationship. At most, they’re meant to be a summer fling. Definitely not a happily ever after.

It bothered me more than I expected, not only because I’m far from Liam’s biggest fan. I wonder if I even would have noticed if she hadn’t already flat-out told me people only see her as her father’s daughter or her brother’s sister” What a nice contemporary romance! I wasn't really sure what to expect going in especially because I was getting Romeo and Juliet vibes from the synopsis, but I really enjoyed this book! Her success was so overly looked, she won, she played she was involved and they overlooked her like she was nothing. And it pained me, that the world saw her or her family name not of her own achievements.I also had a lot of fun getting to know both characters' sets of friends. We don't spend loads of time with each group since our main characters are always sneaking away to see each other, but I appreciated the time we had with them. PLEASE TELL ME THAT IRL AMERICAN TOWNS ARE NOT SO OBSSESSED WITH HIGH-SCHOOL FOOTBALL AND THAT THE RIVALRY WAS JUST THE STUFF OF BOOKS????

Rival Love Series by C.W. Farnsworth - Goodreads

Why were her friends so shitty when they found out about Wes… I understand they were concerned but it was unfair of them to make her feel like she wasn’t important to him. They automatically assumed he would play her when they didn’t know him at all… Maggie was at least nice about it but LIVED in the rival town, why was she not more supportive. the party scene - where maeve caught him kissing emily. i love those type of scenes but once again the way the author wrote it LIKE SHOW ME THE TENSION AND ANGER not just maeve being like "im so angry "They hardly know each other. Until one week of sharing secrets, pretending to be in love, and sleeping in the same bed changes everything. Feelings that were supposed to be fake start to feel very real. They confided in each other about the ways of the world, about the issues they faced, and I think if they had been any different in their characters their roles, they never would’ve shared it. I think there’s so much that goes off this by knowing they could be ruined with the information they told, but knowing the other wouldn’t.
