About this deal

Goodness, where to begin? This series vastly outperformed even my wildest expectations and this final installment couldn't have been more perfectly written. 2021 has been a wonderful year full of unforgettable books and The True Lies of Rembrandt Stone Series is hands down my favorite of the year. Days, weeks and months were counted down until the next hit...erm, installment. Countless conversations had amongst fellow fans, speculating just how the author would wrap up Rembrandt's adventures in this last book. The year is 1764, and following a glowing recommendation from his last employer, Henry Coffey, vampire, takes on a new personal secretary: young Theophilus Essex.

Heart of Stone is the first book in Krystina & Alexander's epic love story. It's the beginning of the steamy and unforgettable series by USA Today Bestselling Author Dakota Willink. You guys, do NOT miss this story... this series! It's incredible and will always be one of my all time favorites!! This book. This story. I have been trying to put all the pieces together since book one. I mean how in the world was Rembrandt going to get his happy ending? And would it look the same as the very beginning? It's extremely hard to talk about this installment of the book, well any of them honestly, without giving spoilers. So, I'll just say this - this ending was better than I could have imagined. I mean, there were moments I was barely breathing, but for good reason. The way the characters were all brought together, how the bad guys were found, the story behind why everything had happened, and even a surprise twist that I just kind of sat there for awhile smiling about. It shows how independent publishing can support a wider range of story structures. I think it would be hard (not impossible, but challenging) to get a traditional publisher to go for something with this low level of drama, but it's sweet, intimate, and perfect in its way.Okay, you guys, this is actually such a hard review to write without giving spoilers! So all I’m going to say is… this book was just as much of a rollercoaster as the rest of the series!! And when you got to the end… the rollercoaster ride was one hundred percent worth it!! This was the absolute perfect ending to the series & if you want to know more, you’re just going to have to read it for yourself!!

But, as much as this book asks some of the deeper questions of life...it's also entertaining as all get out. There were so many twists and turns in Heart Of Stone that I wondered a time or two if even James Rubart, Susan May Warren, and David Curtis Warren could possibly bring it all around to the ending I wanted and one Rem could live with. I loved seeing all of the various threads from each of Rem's time travel timelines in the previous books finally come together in one, slightly gritty, and riveting conclusion. Highly recommend if you enjoy time-traveling detective stories with high stakes, action and a love that spans decades.Rem discovers his time travels have a cost, and he plans to stop with this final journey. He learns from his past mistakes and recognizes that the journey is more important than the destination. Rem has changed from the first book in the series and grown through his time travel journeys. He is more likeable and relatable. Rem and Eve have a clean romance that survives and spans across Rem’s time travel. And so the story goes, following Henry and Theophilus as they develop a close working relationship that turns into a friendship, colored on both sides by mutual, but unspoken - indeed, repressed and denied - attraction and, eventually, love. Secrets are exchanged: Henry confides that he is a vampire, Theophilus that he is attracted to men (notably, Henry does not share that they have this in common; he fears that this will be interpreted as undue pressure from an employer to an employee). Meanwhile, Theophilus is being epistolarily wooed by Bartholomew Dufresne, a rather verbose rake who he met at Henry's birthday party; while Theophilus has no strong feelings for Dufresne, he is enticed by the opportunity to act on his attraction to men, convinced as he is that his feelings for Henry are one-sided. I read this book in one sitting because I HAD to know what happened to my friend Rem, but also because this is edge-of-your-seat storytelling. And if you have any emotional investment in these characters or this story, you simply cannot quit it.

This book really asked some deeper questions of Rembrandt and his faith in God. Of all the books, this last one definitely has the most about faith and prayer than the others. It's always interesting how the authors incorporate faith into a sci-fi novel.Lots of emotions and drama as the story unfolds again and again over the series of books. I liked the main characters Stone and Eve as their relationship progresses and changes. Good, clean Christian fiction series-highly recommend! Characters: Henry is a 505 year old gay white vampire and publisher with ADHD. He has a cat named Astaroth. Theophilus is a 26 year old autistic gay white Greek British personal secretary. This is set in 1764 Birmingham, England. Development began in December 2020, when Gadot signed on to star. Harper and Netflix were confirmed to serve as director and distributor respectively the following month, with the rest of the cast being confirmed in early 2022. Filming took place in Europe from January to July of that year.
