John went on a date with Charlotte after she was with Clay, talking about the dead man's body out in the field. He went with Charlotte to eat at a Thai restaurant he invited her to. Jessica later follows the fake Charlie, who reveals herself to be Circus Baby and is captured by her and brought to Circus Baby's Pizza. She forces Jessica to perform surgery on a weak William Afton who has escaped the Spring Bonnie suit. Jessica completes the surgery and is thrown into a room where the recently captured kids are being held. The friends flee the restaurant and fetch Police Officer Dunn, only to find that the restaurant's door has been chained up while they were gone. Charlie later talks with John about her father; he closed the restaurant and committed suicide after Michael was murdered, leading many people in the town to suspect he was the killer. Ten years later, a memorial was held by the parents of the late Michael Brooks, and Charlie and her childhood friends return to Utah to attend it. Later on, Theodore's head began to speak to him, repeating "Shining Star, Sliver Reef". He spoke with Jessica, and the two discover that Silver Reef was an old ghost town. When they traveled to the abandoned area, they saw an arch with a star, which they concluded to be the "Shining Star". They ventured to the house atop a hill, where Charlie's Aunt Jen resided. While they were there, they discovered Charlie trapped in a box, and Aunt Jen was killed. John took the real Charlie to his house to rest and hide.

After the murders ten years earlier, Jessica moved to New York with her family. She grew up to be sophisticated and pretty, with a love of fashion only surpassed by her love of forensics. While people often underestimated her, Jessica frequently finds herself taking on the role of leader and strategist. She is one of Charlie's best friends. The protagonist of The Silver Eyes and The Twisted Ones, she was killed by William at Fredbear's Family Diner, while her and her twin brother were hiding in one of the closets playing with costumes. Afton is described as being larger around the time that the serial killings occurred, but he eventually lost that weight while in his Dave Miller persona.It is shown in The Twisted Ones that upon becoming Springtrap and being released from the small room, William is in an invigorated state of being, having felt powerful due to his newfound strength and his control of the Twisted Animatronics. He expressed how he felt like he was ‘more’ than both his past self and Henry. When they reach the exit, Funtime Foxy is near, so Jessica decides to distract it and go for her. She tells the other four to go out. Jessica takes the device out, and the fox starts chasing her through the pizzeria. After Jessica manages to defeat Funtime Foxy and the Baby Crawlers. Marla, Jessica and the three kids leave. The day after, Marla, Jessica, John, and Clay are in the hospital, near Carlton's side as he is recovering from his near-death injury. Michael is a little child with a round face and rosy cheeks, with brown wide eyes that "glisten", and short blond hair. He wears a blue T-shirt, with dark grey shorts. It is revealed that the control that allows the Twisted animatronics to alter how they are perceived, a small, coin-sized illusion disc, was created by Afton Robotics.

Marla first appears in Chapter 2, she is at Carlton's house, along with Jessica and Carlton. By the time John arrives, they are excited that he came. The group then starts to talk about Charlie, and how she's different lately. Eventually, Jessica encouraged him to get together with the rest of the old childhood crew (aside from Lamar), he reluctantly shows up at Clay Burke's house and meets his friends once more. Clay also encouraged him to stay, despite his urges to leave. When Charlie showed up, he had left the house out of fear-- only to be caught by her. He doesn't accept that she's truly Charlie; nonetheless, the two agree to meet up again at the Thai restaurant they went to on their first date the next day.The three were guided to an underground pizzeria, where they finally find Charlie. However, they are surrounded by Twisted Bonnie and Twisted Wolf, commanded by William Afton, who is now undead; With his new body, he calls himself Springtrap. The four manage to escape, even managing to burn down Twisted Bonnie and Twisted Wolf. Then Charlie sees that Springtrap escapes and starts chasing him, leaving her friends behind. John, Jessica, and Clay are surrounded by Twisted Bonnie, Twisted Wolf, and Twisted Freddy. However, they are rescued by the original Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, as they destroy the twisted animatronics. He's also one of Charlie's childhood friends, he was lured away by William in a yellow bear suit, along with 4 other children, and was never seen again. During this time, Arthur was able to pester the hospital enough to be granted temporary custody of William to take him to the distribution center. When they arrived, he burst into chunks of flesh and gristle, seemingly releasing the tormenting specter, as evidenced by tiny footsteps coming from the man. William lives from this as well, anchoring on Andrew without him knowing. William was also able to manipulate Andrew's anger, allowing it to have deadly effects on whatever it touched. Andrew then uses his rage to infect the toys, costumes, and animatronics. This includes Fetch, Ella, Foxy, Plushtrap Chaser, Ralpho, and Spring Bonnie.
