Chang, L., Liu, S. T. & Bowers, J. E. Integrated optical frequency comb technologies. Nat. Photon. 16, 95–108 (2022). Simply trim the hairs that protrude through the teeth of the comb. Rest the clipper on the comb and guide it against the comb’s teeth at right angles. Corcoran, B. et al. Ultra-dense optical data transmission over standard fibre with a single chip source. Nat. Commun. 11, 2568 (2020). As long as you’ve got a decent clipper, the only other items you’ll need are a good pair of scissors and a Topper Comb.

The haircut is usually done with electric clippers utilizing the clipper over comb technique, though it can also be cut shears over comb or freehand with a clipper. [9] [10] Some barbers utilize large combs designed for cutting flattops. Others use wide rotary clipper blades specifically designed for freehand cutting the top of a flattop. [11]To maintain the flat top ‘look’ you would normally need to visit the hair salon every 2 to 3 weeks, which can become very expensive and time-consuming. Hugi, A. et al. That way you’ll achieve a much cleaner/neater cut. Step 2 The QD laser is placed on a temperature-controlled stage, with a test temperature set to 20 °C throughout the whole measurements. The gain sections are driven by a low-noise laser current source (ILX Lightwave LDX-3620) whereas the SA is driven by a programmable voltage source (Keithley 2600). The laser emission is coupled by a polarization-maintained (PM) fiber and then passes through a fiber optical isolator before it is further analyzed. The optical spectra are measured by a high-resolution optical spectrum analyzer (OSA) (Yokogawa AQ6370C). After the laser emission is captured by a high-speed photodiode (PD) (Finisar HPDV2120R), the 60 GHz RF beatnote is firstly down-converted to 20 GHz by using a low-noise RF local oscillator (LO) (Agilent E8257D) through an RF mixer (Marki Microwave MM1-2567LS). The RF signal is then measured by an electrical spectrum analyzer (ESA) (Rohde & Schwarz FSU50). The intensity autocorrelation is firstly generated by a high-sensitivity autocorrelator (ATC) (Femtochrome FR-103MN) before it is measured by a high-resolution real-time oscilloscope (Agilent MSO7104B). Intermode beating phase measurement After the FM comb operation is well developed, an external low-noise tunable laser (TNL) (Keysight 81606 A) will beat with the m th and the ( m + 1) th comb lines through a 50/50 fiber beam splitter. The frequency detuning between the TNL and the m th mode δ, and the frequency detuning between the TNL and the ( m + 1) th mode f rep − δ are then generated, where f rep is the 60 GHz laser repetition frequency. Both these two RF beat signals as well as the laser beatnote are then captured by a high-speed photodiode (PD) (Finisar HPDV2120R). All these signals are amplified by a 30-dB RF amplifier (AMP) (RF-Lambda RLNA00G18GA) before they are analyzed by a high-speed real-time oscilloscope (Keysight UXR0594A). More details on the data treatment are available in the Supplementary Information. Group velocity dispersion measurement

Step 3

First remove the clipper guard. Slide the comb into the hair at whatever angle you desire. It doesn’t have to be a perfect box style cut.

Slide the comb onto the top of the head and lift it until you reach the desired length. Ensure you have the comb level and then cut the hair with your clippers. Osinski, M. & Buus, J. The traditional Topper Comb is about 6 inches wide and better suited for anyone less experienced in cutting hair.
