environment, to rip apart. The film delivers exactly what is expected of it, then: a carnival ride through the grisly world of a bear hopped up on Universal has released Cocaine Bear to the UHD format just five months -- almost to the day -- after the studio first brought the film to Elsewhere in the woods, two kids - Dee Dee (Brooklynn Prince) and her pal Henry (Christian Convery) – have skipped school so that they could go paint. They come across the cocaine and try it out, and soon enough Dee Dee is missing and Henry is literally up a tree. the original issue and considering just how good the Blu-ray is, a recommendation for a repeat buy is difficult right out of the gate. First time buyers resolution allows for more intricate clarity that does not make new information appear, but that renders the information that is here more readily Records the default button state of the corresponding category & the status of CCPA. It works only in coordination with the primary cookie. knows its audience, and maintaining focus on what the audience wants, rather than pretentiously try to build something more into the film, As of this writing, I’ve been reviewing movies for nearly twenty five years. In that time I’ve seen some truly great films, some good ones, bad ones and some awful ones. So what was I to think when a movie with the title Cocaine Bear was released? My knee jerk reaction says it has “guilty pleasure” written all over it. But the film does have roots in history. Yes, the events in this film actually happened (to an extent, I’m sure a lot of creative liberties were taken). I recall an interview with director Elizabeth Banks who remarked that “…this could be a career ender.” And she’s right. But I will say that some of the more enjoyable films out there are those that poke fun at themselves and/or their genre. Yes, The Meg, Crawl and Lake Placid all share similarities to this one so if any of those were up your alley – you’ll be high on life.Audio: English: DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1; Spanish: DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1; French (Canada): DTS 5.1 double dip (already) or who waited to buy the first time. The UHD does offer very good UHD specs and presentation characteristics but...this close to Speaking of encountering the titular bear: here’s where Banks finds her biggest success. As expected, this drug-fueled ursine is not only smarter than your average bear, it also harbors the biggest cocaine habit this side of Tony Montana, and will do anything to feed that need. Anything. And really, the film only works whenever the 500-pound flimsily rendered apex predator is on the screen as it slices, dices, rips, and shreds its way through human fodder as it seeks out the next high. While genre lovers will likely wallow in the film’s gonzo attitude and style, it never comes close to being as wild and, ahem… gutsy, as it tries to be. gory moments spread out over 90 minutes. The characters are likewise uninteresting, but they are at least played with physical zeal to spare. The

Though not a fault of the transfer, the CGI effects (particularly the bear) are a bit sketchy. After all, there's no way to hide budget effects in a 1080p transfer. organic and true to the digital source workmanship and characteristics. Deleted & Extended Scenes – Four and a half minutes are included, though the scenes aren’t labeled/titled. The highlight of these would be Sari (Keri Russell) pulling a vacuum cleaner hose out of a certain part of a man’s anatomy. Lovely. the top characters who are hopelessly one dimensional but who serve the movie well enough as cannon fodder for the bear, and sometimes for the bright sunlit areas and shadows is very well pronounced, and the characteristics of each are seamless and share the screen with excellent contraststability in each region of light and dark. The image deepens natural greens while also making them brighter and more vivid. The same is said of drugs and unwittingly indulged itself. It is also not hard to believe that the movie that has been made around the story is a far-flung reworking of Doing Lines – Cast and filmmakers read lines from the script to COCAINE BEAR, which was a work of art unto itself. Deleted Scenes (HD, 5 Mins.) - A few scenes that were left on the cutting room floor, most of which are just extended sequences. And much hilarity ensues as the fairly serious combination of a worried mother looking for her missing children, an angry drug dealer looking for his stash and a dogged detective hoping to make an arrest clashes head-on with the idea of a huge wild bear off its nut on cocaine. There are plenty of laughs as the bear rips limbs from torsos, young children find a bag of coke, identify it as cocaine and instantly sample it to see what happens, and Daveed and Eddie take a very emotional hostage to lead them to where the drugs are, but despite the movie being enjoyable, superbly shot and the CGI bear not as off-putting as it could have been, there is the feeling that it doesn’t quite go far enough.

It's too short to get into the fun of it all. A rich, lush image that just misses out on the very top tier of fine detail, but remains overall simply a gorgeous picture. But to finish on a niggle...like Disney's 4K disc releases, digital versions of the film come with a Dolby Vision grade to compliment their HDR10 base layer and no matter how great the image currently looks - and it does look very, very good - it's difficult not to wonder if the inclusion of the alternative HDR grade wouldn't have added just that last little bit of sparkle... whom find themselves forced to set aside differences of objectives and personalities if they are to survive a nightmare journey into the world of the time and again in white powder and red blood. It's a ridiculous premise but, if nothing else, in a world of copycat movies, this one at least aims to do

Alternate Ending – In the “not so different, yet it doesn’t make sense” category we’ve got this. About a 20 second “alternate ending” that had me scratching my head. Well, unfortunately, that’s not what we get with Cocaine Bear. Sure, the film gleefully fulfills its basic expectations with cleverly-executed moments of over-the-top death and carnage perpetrated against a cast of Darwin Award winning rubes. And yes, Elizabeth Banks – who directs – shows a deft hand with her many set pieces. All Roads Lead to Cokey: The Making of COCAINE BEAR - Meet the hilarious ensemble brought together to bring the movie of what is soon to be the world's most famous bear to life.
