The landspeeder has two small holes on the underside where the stand slots in, but the rest of the vehicle’s underside is unremarkable. If I had one wish for this model it’s that it were a little closer to the film prop, as opposed to the in-universe vehicle. The real prop had a regular vehicle chassis with wheels that were crudely blurred out (via petroleum jelly on the film) to make it “float”. I would have loved for this landspeeder to include flip-down wheels so that it could be pushed around “floating” on the ground. But I also understand why LEGO didn’t go this route, as UCS models have always tried to be as accurate to the in-universe designs as possible. Still, it seems a relatively easy modification to make, so undoubtedly some fans will design a great conversion. The landspeeder is a very small vehicle, with the seats essentially sitting on the floor, and the model nicely retains this streamlined look. Use clever building techniques to construct the recognisable features plus a custom-made LEGO element captures the windscreen’s shape The canopy is the only wholly new element, but there are a few other elements of note. First of all, this set is a goldmine for nougat elements, with 302 spread across 16 elements. Some of them are new in nougat to this set, such as the mudguards. While the flex tubes may be the most novel technique in the set, with just the landspeeder’s engines left, the rest of the build is far from boring. Each of the three engines is unique and they’re delightfully complex with studs in all directions and ample use of half-stud offsets and clip connections. The first engine to build is the left, and it’s the one that makes this Luke’s landspeeder rather than a generic X-34, as it’s missing most of its exterior paneling.

I still want my Ep6 speederbike! There was also a a lot of support for a Nebbie, a twin-pod cloud car or a T-16 might be interesting, the sail barge would be popular, the skiff probably less-so, and they could probably make the Rebel transport and at least one Mon Cal cruiser work (but they’d need to be spaced out a bit. They could make the SE Imperial landing craft, but I don’t know how well that would play vs the Tyderium. There will also be repeats of vehicles that have already been done. So, there’s a lot of life left besides just the Bomber. But I’m also hoping to get the Soulless One someday, and Jango’s Slave I. If they get to the point where they’re making one of those Yavin base ferries as a UCS set, _then_ they need to abandon the OT.
I would have liked to see some removable panels in the long hood with technical details beneath; the interior structure could easily accommodate it. To answer that question, most UCS sets based on ships that are "starfighter" size or smaller fall into that category: the UCS X-Wing, Y-wing, A-Wing, B-Wing, Snowspeeder, TIE Fighter, TIE Interceptor, etc. When dealing with ships that small, minifigure scale wouldn't really be big enough to allow for an "Ultimate Collector Series" level of detail. The nose clips into the body of the speeder, and then plates and tiles are laid over it, more or less permanently affixing it. You won’t be able to easily remove it to fit the landspeeder in a smaller box, for instance. I'm not complaining. I am just curious how many other SW sets have a vehicle larger than minifigure scale" Yes, you should absolutely buy the Lego Star Wars Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder. This is one of our favorite Lego Star Wars models of recent years, perfectly balancing detail, build quality, and price. Perhaps it’s not quite as impressive in scale as the 7,541 piece Millennium Falcon, but it’s also a quarter of the price.

Perhaps someday LEGO will create miniland-scale figures to accompany UCS sets, but for now, here’s a miniland-scale R2-D2. And speaking of figures, let’s take a look at them now. As the sides get built up, a few bits of detail are added with nougat wheel arches turned sideways to make the landspeeder’s scalloped edges. The Landspeeder technical data display plate and stand to create a hover effect make this Star Wars set perfect for home or office décor The other two engines on the right and top are very similar to each other but because of the way they attach to the vehicle they vary a bit in construction. Each of them uses a version of this central core with lots of SNOT elements for omni-directional studs. This Star Wars collectible includes 2 iconic characters: Luke Skywalker with a lightsaber and electro-binoculars plus C-3PO LEGO minifigures The rounded nose is built as a completely separate sub-assembly, and it’s where we first delve into some more complex building techniques, as the large quarter-circle slopes don’t come in matching top/bottom versions, so the bottom ones are flipped upside down. There’s also some very interesting techniques to hold the very tip of the nose in place which at first it seemed way over-engineered. But once the curved flex tubing is added later, it’s apparent that the extra strength this design provides is needed.
Luke's Landspeeder is one of the best (and most reasonably-priced) UCS Lego sets of recent years.
Once the engines are attached, the landspeeder itself is complete. The only the left is to build the display stand. I want Prequel trilogy UCS sets so badly, but am happy for Lego to churn out these OT sets until the market is ready for them. Unfortunately, there’s a little repetition when it comes to building the three engines of the Lego Star Wars Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder. You’ll build the broken engine first, complete with its exposed wiring and mechanics. Next is the in-tact engine to sit on the other side of the ship, and finally the central engine that sits on top. Be transported to the desert planet of Tatooine as you build the first-ever LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series version of Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder (75341). Use new building techniques and custom-made LEGO elements to recreate this iconic vehicle in intricate detail. Most, but not by a huge margin. The Death Star, SSD, ISD (x2), and Tantive IV are smaller scale. The Falcon (x2), Tyderium, Slave I, AT-AT, are about the same scale. Naboo Starfighter and sandcrawler are at or smaller than minifig scale. Then you’ve got X-Wing (x2), Y-Wing (x2), A-Wing, B-Wing, Snowspeeder (x2), TIE Fighter, Vader’s TIE, TIE Interceptor, AT-ST, Jedi Starfighter, and Republic Gunship that are all clearly larger. That’s 5:7:14, so just over half, if you eliminate character builds and playsets from the discussion.

This LEGO Star Wars collectible set for adults makes a wonderful gift for yourself, another Star Wars connoisseur or any advanced LEGO builder. It comes with step-by-step instructions so you can zone in and enjoy the complex build. This buildable Star Wars vehicle measures over 4 in. (10 cm) high, 19 in. (49 cm) long and 11.5 in. (30 cm) wide. Anyway, the designers did a really nice job here capturing the landspeeder's colors and "streamline moderne" inspired curves! It's also neat that C-3PO finally has a dual-molded right leg, something that I feel is long overdue. I could just as easily do without some of the other details on that minifigure like the printing on the sides of the legs, but the dual-molded leg is a big improvement over the printed silver details that previous C-3PO minifigs had to settle for. Thankfully, Lego has varied the construction of each a little, so each engine isn’t a complete replica of each other. This is perhaps the slowest part of the build, but aside from the stand they’re the last things to do. So, once you’re finished with them, you’ve got a fantastic finished model to admire. The display stand is even simpler than that of many other UCS sets, as the landspeeder is displayed sitting flat rather than tilted at an angle like 75275 A-wing Starfighter. The stand also includes the info placard and a few exposed studs for the two minifigures of Luke and C-3PO. One small thing I found interesting is that the instructions call for the minifigures to be assembled as the very last thing; I can’t recall the last time the minifigures weren’t the first steps of their respective bags, but I liked the change up and having a place to immediately put the figs. We’ll look at the figures in more detail below. It’s the closest thing they have to a passenger car, and has one of the highest capacity vs size ratios.
