About this deal

He then takes the wheel and closes it fully and sins it to randomize the location of the target area. He then opens it to see where the scoring area is, making sure no other person sees it.

For example, if the card this round is HOT-COLD and the bullseye is slightly to the "cold" side of the centre, the Psychic needs to give a clue somewhere in that region. Perhaps "salad"? Of course, you can customise all this if you want. Play to more than 10! Do more than seven cards! Don't score at all! It doesn't break anything.

Overview

Since Wavelength is based off of gut feelings, you should restrict yourselves to saying things like "way more to the right", or "down a little" rather than "turn it to 25%". Lacuna comes in a colorful cardboard tube. Pop the top, and just below it you’ll find a plastic panel that looks like a shaker from a large plastic jar of paprika or garlic powder. Below that panel are all the bits: 49 colorful wooden flowers, 12 metal player pawns, and a heavyweight cloth playing mat. Unboxing it is a visual and a tactile delight, but pregame setup is where the real fun begins. For example, if I am giving a clue using the word an old coin. Using the adjective extremely to qualify the clue is giving away too much. Benefits of playing the wavelength board game After the Psychic's team has finalized their dial position, the other team gets to guess whether the center of the target (the 4 point wedge) is to the left or right of the dial. This discussion should be fairly brief, since it's a simple binary choice: LEFT or RIGHT.

After the Psychic gives their clue, it's up to the rest of their team to READING THEIR MIND and turn the dial as close to the center of the target area as they can. But there’s a wrinkle. If any players write the same word, then those clues are eliminated and never seen. It’s a wonderful wrinkle that causes you to think outside the box and manage risk. If the word is “yellow” and two people write “color,” then you may very well be doomed. But as you’re sitting there, trying to determine the best possible word to write, you wonder if everyone else is overthinking and not a single person will write “color.” There’s a self-inflicted mind game going on, and legitimate strategy and critical thinking may help the group prevail. Discussion is eventually wrapped as opinions are settled and everyone holds their breath. The panel covering the wheel is opened in a moment of dramatic tension. It's bright, it's visceral and it's in your face. Wavelength is a game anyone can play. There are very few rules to remember, very few components and it feels oddly familiar. Even non-gamers, once they have seen a round being played will be up in your face in the next round arguing about why your clue was rubbish. Wavelength will get your game night off to a great start, everyone is involved at all times and not just a fun game but a great team activity too.

If there is a tie, each team will play one more round. The team that scores the most points wins the game. The teams will keep playing additional rounds until one team has scored more points. Cooperative Game Wavelength is a social guessing game where 2 teams compete to read each other's minds. Teams take turns rotating a dial to where they believe a hidden bullseye is located on a spectrum. One of the players on your team — the Psychic — knows specifically where the bullseye is, and draws a card with a pair of binaries on it (such as: Job - Career, Rough - Smooth, Fantasy - Sci-Fi, Sad Song - Happy Song, etc). The Psychic must then give a clue that is *conceptually* where the bullseye is located between those two binaries.

End of the Game

In the Psychic Phase the Psychic creates a clue for their teammates to hopefully get them to guess the right spot on the spectrum. The Psychic will do all of this without letting any of the other players see what they are doing. If the current team scored four points in the previous round, they have a chance to play again in the next round. If the team scored four points and is still behind the other team, they will get to play the next round as well. A new player will be chosen as the Psychic for the next round though. Winning Wavelength Place the card in the slot in front of the device, with your chosen side facing forward, and read the card text so both teams can hear. Think of it like a speedometer. With a random spin the bullseye may be at 20mph or it may be far to the right at 120. So let's say it's at 30, halfway between the centre and zero.

Wavelength is a social guessing game, consisting of two teams, active and inactive, with each team trying to read the mind of the other. A player from the active team gives a clue to help members guess the position of the scoring is on the wheel.

Each round begins with the current team's Psychic spinning the wheel to randomize the target's location, drawing a wavelength card, and giving a clue ON THE SPECTRUM between the two concepts on the card. They draw a card that has two opposing concepts on it, like "Underrated - Overrated" or "Hot - Cold".
