About this deal

I wonder how many kids get some good ideas from his books. Well, there is moral in the books, that nasty people always get punished, but however... They play pranks on each other; such as worms in food, frogs in beds, psychological torture, and air space incursions. Mr. and Mrs. Twit are a hateful and spiteful couple who take perverse pleasure in playing cruel jokes on each other. Their pranks range from Mrs. Twit feeding her husband worms and Mr. Twit tormenting his wife into thinking she is afflicted by a mysterious "shrinking disease." There is seemingly no end to the cruelty this couple has towards each other and unfortunately, those around them fare no better. They also keep a family of pet monkeys, the Muggle-Wumps. The Twits, who are retired circus trainers, are trying to create the first upside-down monkey circus. They will always demand the monkeys stand on their heads for hours on end. That is what a politically correct reviewer from the nanny state would say before banning the book. But not children! Tominey, Camilla. "Thank heavens for Queen Camilla, who saved Britain from Roald Dahl censorship". The Daily Telegraph. London, England: Telegraph Media Group. ISSN 0307-1235. OCLC 49632006. Archived from the original on 26 February 2023 . Retrieved 27 February 2023. As part of a plan to make Mrs. Twit feel that she is shrinking, he slowly extended her chair and cane until she was convinced that she was getting shorter. So in typical Roald Dahl fashion they get exactly what is coming to them. They may be caricatures, though they are a very good example to children about why we should never hate. Even though they are horrible, hating them is the wrong thing to do because we are just as bad as them. Toxic people should be removed from our lives. There’s no point hating them, just walk away from them like the animals attempt to do here.Since February 2003, a feature film adaptation of the book has been in development by Vanguard Animation and its founder John H. Williams. As part of a multi-picture deal with Walt Disney Pictures, Vanguard was set to produce a CG animated/live-action film, with John Cleese and Kirk DeMicco writing the screenplay. [15]
