Fantastic service. Dragging your luggage around on the first day and last day of a London visit is a thing of the past. — Chris 10 months ago I was very excited when I found out that we’d be testing Stasher bags to see how we would get on with them. The Stasher bags are a great solution to disposable plastic bags (e.g., Ziploc bags), and are durable and made out of good, food-grade materials. However, there are other viable solutions to using both reusable and disposable plastic bags, such as plastic or glass dishes that are cheaper, and easier to manage and clean in most cases. For example, I was asked about storing chocolates and cut avocado in the bags. For me, those can go in small air-tight containers, stay better for longer and result in a situation that is a lot easier to clean! Let’s be honest: most sous vide preparations are cooked for just a few hours at a time, and generally not at the highest temperature a sous vide machine allows. However, we’ve heard reports of Stasher bags failing even under this typical use.

There are lots of perks, but there’s one thing that hasn’t been mentioned in all the marketing stuff I’ve seen. Does you friend handwash, boil, then dishwash? or just stop at boil. I just got a new dishwasher, so I was hoping hand washing and putting it in the dishwasher would be sufficient. Although not a warranty, you can send your used Stasher bags for recycling through their repurpose program with TerraCycle. This ensures you can give new life to the bags once they have reached the end of their life cycle. The corners, in particular, are tight and deep. Yes, my sink has issues.). A simple rinse, however, didn’t adequately clean out the corners. If you don’t have an insanely strong sink that wildly blasts water out instead of pouring nicely, you may struggle more. 2. Does the silicone bag hold onto the strong odors of fragrant food? The bags themselves are more supple than I would have expected before touching them, and feel high quality. Once you have one in your hands, it makes sense that these bags are supposed to be able to last for up to 3,000 uses.

But they definitely aren’t the ideal solution for sous vide enthusiasts.
