Snotface Snotlout, a tall, unpleasantly smug-looking boy with gigantic nostrils and the beginnings of a small moustache. However small we are, we should always fight for what we believe to be right. And I don’t mean fight with the power of our fists or the power of our swords. That has always been the problem with us Vikings. I mean the power of our brains and our thoughts and our dreams. As with other languages, Dragonese can have various dialects. One such mentioned in the Books several times is an Ancient form of it spoken by dragons who have been isolated for a long time. The first dragon mentioned as speaking with an ancient dialect was the Monstrous Strangulator that Grimbeard the Ghastly left trapped and isolated to guard his treasure for at least 100 years. We were so close to uniting our people. We could have had it all, you and me. We could have been kings among men and Dragons. And now look at us. What’ve we got? Nothing! Fast moving and illustrated throughout, these books deliver a delightful mix of nonsense and adventure, with great aplomb. They are also very, very funny.

Sword-fighting: The only traditional Viking skill which Hiccup is any good at is sword fighting. He is, in fact, a tremendously skilled swordfighter for his age once he discovers that he is left-handed (see How to Be a Pirate), and is the youngest person to ever achieve the rank of Gold Flashmaster ( How to Steal a Dragon's Sword). Keep an ideas notebook so you can scribble down ideas and drawings. This doesn’t need to be neat, and no one should be correcting it for spelling, because spelling doesn’t matter. I kept an sketchbook for The Wizards of Once for about 5 years. There was Snotface Snotlout. A delightful boy - if you happen to like unpleasant teenagers with skull tattoos who bully anything that moves and is smaller than them. And as small and quiet and unimportant as our fighting may look, perhaps we might all work together like the numberless armies of Ziggerastica, and break out of the prisons of our own making. Perhaps we might be able to keep this fierce and beautiful world of ours as free for all of us as it seemed to be on that blue afternoon of my childhood.” Third installment from Hiccup. If I ever have a pet dragon, I hope that he is less like a cat than toothless! The American Dream • The American Dream 2 • The Endless Journey • The Hopeful Puffin • Viking Longship • Roman Observation Balloon Hiccup and Camicazi return to Berk in despair, only to discover that Fishlegs has, in fact, recovered. However, it turns out that Old Wrinkly's soothsaying is only somewhat inaccurate, and it is Hiccup who was bitten by the Venomous Vorpent. Fishlegs shoots Hiccup with the potato-juice-covered arrow, saving Hiccup and proving the quest worthwhile after all. Hiccup keeps his word to One-Eye, planting potatoes for the use of humans and dragons. Betapapun kecilnya kita, kita harus memperjuangkan apa yang kita percayai. Bukan berjuang dengan kekuatan pedang atau kepalan tangan kita, tapi kekuatan otak dan pikiran dan mimpi kita.” In reply the little girl hoisted the sword over her head and ran toward Hiccup shouting the Bog-Burglar War Cry, which sounds like a very rude word shouted at the top of the lungs. Every year, Cressida’s family spent four weeks of the summer, and two weeks of the spring, on the island. The family had to catch their own fish to eat. The house was lit by candle-light, and there was no telephone or television, so Cressida spent her time drawing and writing stories.

Review: “How to Speak Dragonese” by Cressida Cowell Book Review: “How to Speak Dragonese” by Cressida Cowell

No Viking has ever even tried to speak Dragonese except for Hiccup the First, Hiccup the Second, and Hiccup the Third, as well as, though later, Alvin the Treacherous. The Druid Guardian and the Northern Wanderers, however, can speak Dragonese.

In the main series book How to Speak Dragonese, Hiccup makes a notebook titled How to Speak Dragonese. It is stolen by Alvin, who uses it to subjugate Dragonkind. Before the events of the series but detailed in Book 3, the Bog-Burglars stole Grimbeard's Shield from the Hairy Hooligan Tribe. Hiccup, on the other hand, notes in Book 4 that " If Camicazi had a fault, it was that she was very, very, pleased with herself. But it had to be admitted, she was an excellent burglar". Hiccup, at least at first, preferred she not get involved in some of their escapades because she is a girl. She often has to prove herself that she is a capable Viking, despite her gender.

THE STORY CONTINUES in the third volume of Hiccup's How to Train Your Dragon memoirs, narrated by David Tennant. In real life, when Hiccup and Fishlegs were trapped in the cavern and went up to the surface from the bottom of the sea in Book 2, the air in their lungs and ears would be pressed down very hard, possibly killing them or permanently damaging their body. Plus, there would be way to much pressure to survive. If a person is below 197 feet (about 60 meters) without a diving suit or submarine, it can leave people with serious health issues or death.

About Cressida Cowell

Snotlout hoped to be the chief of the Hairy Hooligans one day despite the fact that Hiccup was the true heir; however, if something were to happen to Hiccup, Snotlout would've been next in line for the position. The two were well aware of this fact which spawned a hatred between them. However after his death Hiccup forgave Snotlout for the years of hatred between them. Hiccup even tells the tribes of the archipelago on the Island of Tomorrow of Snotlout's sacrifice. The potatoes are also rather delicious when they are cooked, either mashed or just plain with a little dollop of melted butter." Stopping a Volcano [ ]
