The image quality of the P3223QE is excellent – images had clear, bright color and sharp detail. I measured the peak brightness at 335 candela per meter square (cd/m2), which is bright enough for most uses, but not as bright as some. The color is clear and vivid, but this monitor is limited to the sRGB color gamut, so you don’t get support for the wider Adobe RGB or Rec.709 colors. That’s fine for general use, but it would be a problem for photo or video use, because it can’t show the same range of colors as a standard UHD TV. Edit video on this monitor and then show it on your TV and it will look quite different. Show a movie on it and you’ll get muted greens and blues that don’t look natural.
The stand has a noticeable heft to it, and comes with all the essential features we expect on Dell stands: Height adjustments, tilt, swiveling, and rotating to portrait – this is essential on productivity monitors for achieving an ergonomic, healthy posture. Our test video clips showed bright colors and good contrast in both bright and dark areas. Images from our photo suite looked bright, with realistic colors.
The next time I plugged the single USB-C cable into the laptop, all of my devices (including the Ethernet) were up and running in a couple of seconds, and the laptop started charging. It’s a simple solution to the business of taking your work with you, but also having the comforts of the home office available. The level of color temperature stability at standard settings turned out to be quite high, and when switching to Custom with large deviations, the white point only increased: the deviations decreased to 1.1 and 2.1%, respectively. The separate “warm” mode Warm proved to be the worst of all, but Cool, despite the sharp increase in color temperature, turned out to be poor only in terms of the maximum deviation of 6.22% found in the darkest measured area. For the post-calibration version, we were able to reduce the mean deviation, but the maximum, with the default settings in it, flew almost twice that of what was achieved in the Custom.

Dell Display Manager
One feature that is missing from this monitor is built-in KVM switch. Other monitors, such as the Dell U2723QE, allow you to switch between multiple computers from the keyboard (hence the name KVM, short for Keyboard, Video, and Mouse switch). The P3223QE only has one USB input, so while you can connect more than one computer at a time to the three video inputs, you can’t switch between them from the keyboard and keep control of each computer. However, colorimeters aren’t always accessible and they are quite expensive for most users. It is only necessary if you are into editing and content creation or if you already have one on hand. Unlike the previously proposed ComfortView preset mode, the new Dell 32 inch monitor allows you to reduce the intensity of the glow of the blue component of the spectrum that is harmful to the eyes without concomitant negative changes – now the picture does not turn yellow, the color temperature is normal, and the load on vision is still reduced. However, we cannot say that the shift of the peak to the region of 456 nm is very significant for reducing eye fatigue. We would like to see something like 460-465 nm, as all new certificates suggest.
