About this deal

Feyre worries that the blight will spread past the wall and eventually affect her family in the human realm. As the person who provided food for her family, she also worries they will starve without her, but Tamlin assures her that he has provided for them. Families can talk about new stories based on old, traditional tales, as with this reinvention of Beauty and the Beast. Do you like getting creative with existing material? Do you think sometimes it goes too far? How? Her second task is to solve a riddle inscribed on a wall, but since Feyre can’t read, she doesn’t know which answer to choose. Rhysand helps her choose the correct answer by communication through the eye tattooed on her palm. They now share a bond through the tattoo. Later when they are alone in her cell, Rhysand admits to her that he wants to be free of Amarantha and hopes that Feyre wins. Fiercely romantic, irresistibly sexy and hypnotically magical. A veritable feast for the senses.””— USA Today on A COURT OF MIST AND FURY Family is a part of Feyre’s (the main character. Pronounced ‘Fey-ruh’ in case you were wondering) character. Love is also a message. Dedication to others and to do the right thing.

AGE RATING – Okay so age rating, this book and the other books in the series have a couple explicit intimate scenes which I think aren’t really suited to younger readers so if you look online many parents say that it should not be a YA (young adult) book and is suited for teen over the age of 17 but overall people say that 15+ is what this book should be rated. I really don’t think it depends on so much the age but the reader’s maturity and knowledge on the subject, for example, you could have a 15-year-old with the maturity of a 9-year-old so you wouldn’t give the book to that kid but you could have a 13-year-old with the maturity of an 18-year-old. So I believe that it really just depends on the persons’ maturity and understanding of the topic but with that, I’m not saying give this book to a 9-year-old to read that’s not what I am saying at all. So I would say this book would be okay for 14 + maybe even a 13-year-old but anything younger I would not recommend but also take in their maturity as they may even be more mature than a 17-year-old. THE THIRD BOOK SHOULD BE CALLED "A COURT OF PAIN AND EMOTIONAL TRAUMA" BECAUSE THAT'S HOW IT'S PROBABLY GONNA GO. HERE COMES THE YEAR LONG WAIT. I DON'T THINK I'LL SURVIVE WITHOUT IT LONG ENOUGH. I WANT IT SOOOOO BADLY!!!!! Love the series! Just wanted to make sure readers are aware that it is an erotic romance, with very detailed sex scenes (first book is not that explicit, but as the books progress the explicitness increases).

Did we miss something on diversity?

Multiple uses of crude language, including "s--t," "balls," "damn," and "hell," most often as "go to hell." What do you think of the level of sex and violence in A Court of Mist and Fury? Is it necessary to the storytelling and the characters , or is it excessive? Is there a different standard for fantasy books than realistic fiction? There is a lot of violence in this book, to be frank. Now, as a kid who needs a fare amount of action (or romance) in a novel to stay hooked I was VERY pleased with the violence in this story. The violence is descriptive and was extremely well written and I’ve never read anything quite like it. This part goes out to the kids: if you do not like violence then you will probably not like this novel considering there is a LOT of action. If you DO like violence then you’ll probably love this book. Okay. Enough with the stalling. Let's venture into dangerous territory aka the romance. *deep breath* I want to start by saying there is no love triangle -- there's only a wonderful, all-consuming and healthy relationship that evolves naturally until it reaches paramount heights. I was constantly plastered with a stupid, goofy grin on my face whenever this couple interacted or was simply in the same scene. What makes them absolutely beautiful in my perspective is the mutual respect, honesty and support they have for each other -- it paints them with an empowering and downright heartwarming glow. Their amazing friendship, their sparking chemistry, their hilarious banter and their hot as hell tension had me repeatedly blessing the gods for Maas. We'll see more Nesta and Elain and Tam and Lucien in the next book, that's for sure. But the stakes are so high and the game of hide and seek between friends and enemies so dangerous that I cannot help but be in a continual frenzy until the sequel. It's going to be as much of a masterpiece as this one, certainly.

What are the challenges of rebuilding your world and your community after destruction and disaster? Where would you start? Feyre is a huntress. She thinks nothing of slaughtering a wolf to capture its prey. But, like all mortals, she fears what lingers mercilessly beyond the forest. And she will learn that taking the life of a magical creature comes at a high price…

Need Help?

AND WHEN RHYS TOLD FEYRE EVERYTHING, (AND I MEAN EVERYTHING)...(LIKE REALLY EVERYTHING), I CRIED. IT WAS SOOOO.... I'M SORRY I CAN'T EVEN PUT IT INTO WORDS, BUT YOU PROBABLY FELT THE SAME THING. YOU KNOW. A Court of Thorn and Roses revisits the Beauty and the Beast theme and may encourage readers to explore other variations. Strong overtones of Celtic mythology, particularly the tale of shape-shifting Tam Lin and his human lover, may inspire some to delve deeper into that material. How the main character battles through her depression has some good lessons when you're of the age to understand them. I would encourage those younger to enjoy other actual teen books and bookmark this one until 18!
