Hi, I have obtained the old model of earbuds which comes with iPhone4 on the internet and used a splitter, then BINGO! It worked! This old model of earbuds comes with a microphone, but there is no “+”, “-“, or “center” buttons to control the volume and iPhone operation. My wild guess is that the recent models of earbuds with a microphone with “+”, “-“, and “center” buttons are not compatible with any splitters, but only the old models work. By the way, there is this article below someone is saying by adjusting the Realtek HD audio manager, the issue may be solved.
