Precise and solid feeling are the two words that came to mind when I first saw and held the Wraith. Not the most striking headphone out there, it embodies its name by having an industrial yet ghost-like aura that remains out of the way. Our THIEAUDIO Legacy 2, a 1BA+1DD IEM, has finally been listed on Linsoul, and that may be one of your options~ Associated GearsMy evaluation is based on using the AC with the following gear, all of which I'm very familiar with: Upgraded with an M-shaped side venting system rather than the traditional front and rear vents, to improve airflow and release the air trapped in the headphone. With better airflow, the Athena will give you a purer and cleaner sound that’s more natural and enjoyable. I’d say the case is nice to have for it isn’t bulky like the generic ones you can buy online. Plus, the materials used don’t feel cheap and it also has a gartered net inside to organize accessories like cables.
The midrange shows itself readily but transitions upwards from the upper midrange to the lower treble with recessed energy. This trait is probably what brought me to the conclusion I had with my initial impression. TimbreThe cable looks expensive, and HarmonicDyne claim it eliminates microphonics, but actually it is quite raspy above the splitter. Note the owners manual and warranty/user guidebook. Such an item is small but has all the info needed.
New products are being released one after another, and the next anticipated IEM is likely the THIEAUDIO Elixir! The technical performance is excellent too, and sure put the bar high in term of sound benefit. This is quite exciting for budget minded consumer since these Ghost have nothing to envy to benchmark headphones like the Sennheiser HD580 which have a similar tonality but with dryer timbre and less extended and open treble.

When I took the Athena to bed with me, my pillow pushed the headphone almost right off my head. If you have a small head these HarmonicDynes may not fit well at all. Offering mostly portable solutions to users, the long list of IEMs under Thieaudio’s belt such as the Legacy 5 would make you think they have zero talent for full-size headphones. But believe it or not, their first foray to the fold was a planar magnetic headphone called the Phantom 3 years ago.
The Ghost is a really interesting headphone. I know why many people will like it, and I also have a case for those who will say otherwise. This response is derived from a weighted log-level average from several different products that I believe are tonally well-balanced in their own right: ZMF Caldera, DCA Stealth, HFM Susvara. Optimal weights were determined through randomized and programmed self-test iterations with flattened Stealth/Susvara.
I don’t know if having a dynamic driver is the reason why the Ghost had a considerable chunk of the price dropped compared with the Wraith. It can’t be ignored though that Thieaudio will be winning points by lowering the barrier of entry, but only if it is up to the task.
