Heroine is a doormat that says she isn’t but in the end is and the hero is a jerk, he says he is overprotective but he actually just wants her in a little cage all for himself, they even say that point a bunch of times in the book to him and many times by the heroine but it just vanishes by the end? Though I would have expected this on Wattpad, it being a published novel is what perplexes me. But then again, I read it, so what do I really know. Rating this book was easy. Was it perfect? No. Did it have me scanning over words just to get to the good parts? Absolutely not.It doesn't pisses me off that she felt that he broke her heart. I just don't understand the fact that she is mad with him for not overcoming his fears in ten minutes, when she did not change her way of seeing her life and living it in that amount of time. That she didn't leave him time to assimilate anything. She and her best friend have had a strange relationship for 4 years. Basically boyfriend/girlfriend without a real relationship. She’s on a shelf, and well, he is not. This may annoy some readers but honestly, it feels necessary to the storyline.

The characters are well-developed and their journey to recovery is portrayed in a sensitive way. The book ends on a hopeful note that feels realistic. Then when he said he loves her, she said it is only because he is afraid of losing her, and leave his house. But when I tell Cole my request, his reaction is not what I expect. He’s furious and over-the-top protective. He won’t touch me, but apparently no one else can either. It doesn’t make any sense. It’s time to move on and start living my life. This summer, I’m going to ask him to take my V-card with no strings attached.

You would think, the whole set-up of them being really good friends and him always being protective but no he is so annoying. I don't think either one of the two was good enough/ thorough enough to make the book worthwhile. The more that I read, the more underwhelming it became. Because it's so easy to say that these characters have undeniable chemistry, and state that they're attracted to each other, but I wanted to SEE it. BookTok did this to me. I'm not sure why it chose to do me this way or what I may have done to warrant this sort of treatment but nonetheless, here I am. Again.

Basically she is a Christian girl who realizes that she need a change in the way she is livin her live. So far fine. So she make a to do list with impure things se wants to do within 3 months. My only real complaint is the story pacing feels a little off and the ending is definitely rushed. The giveaway epilogue really needs to be part of the storyline to pull it all together. If you can look past how double standards major man-ho H is and how it is brought up SO SO many times .. then it is okay book. h says to H when they are young, that she would date ONLY christian. And ofc H is ruled out. So they both pine for each other. Over the last year h has second thoughts... and decides she can date a NON christian.I shouldn't be saying this about my book babies, but Purity is by far my favorite of all of them. I wrote this book from the depth of my soul. I had to dive into my religious trauma, bathe in it for a while, and then let my characters speak it out of me in a way that often took me by surprise. Heroine is a complete and utter doormat while the hero is a manwhore who has sex with countless OW while supposedly being in love with her the whole time. He even attempts to have sex with OW after he and the heroine have passionately made out (it gets interrupted with OW for external reasons but they still kiss, etc). Like it is somewhat okay, that he sleeps around - because there was no hope to be with h (h told him so herself) and he wants to forget- BUT why did he do it so open? why did he bring countless OWs around his big love h? Make out with them in front of her? Later in the book he says to h about all the OWs around her "but you never acted jealous" ..

The author did a fantastic job of writing an exciting story filled with suspense, drama, and exploring relationships between people of different ages and long-time friends.People who enjoy reading about family dramas will love this book. Additionally, if you like mysterious stories that are a bit dark and set in a famous city, then this thriller will definitely satisfy you.
