About this deal

It wasn’t by choice that I started making falooda from scratch. Since I moved away from Sri Lanka, it was hard to find authentic falooda syrup in stores. For years, I waited until I could buy the syrup from the local Sri Lankan store, but they didn’t always have it. The Sri Lankan falooda syrup was marketed as MD Artificial Sherbet Syrup. A major player in this dessert’s health game is the basil seeds, often overshadowed by their flavour counterparts. These tiny seeds, also known as Sabja seeds or Tukmaria, are a powerhouse of nutrition. Learn how to make Rose Falooda at home with easily available ingredients. Make rose falooda from scratch easily to beat the summer heat! Place the remaining ingredients in a blender (you can do this in two stages if you have a smaller blender) and blend – the texture should be quite liquid like a milkshake and pink in colour. But individual elements (jelly, soaked sabja, cooked falooda sev, sweetened milk) can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for 3 days.

Sweet basil seeds have started gaining popularity as the new super seed. However, there are not as many research studies available about these seeds. Some research with mice shows anti-hyperglycemic potential. Use high-quality ingredients: To achieve the best taste and texture, remember to use only high-quality ingredients such as fresh rose syrup, fresh vermicelli, and fresh milk. Using a tall falooda glass that has been set in the freezer for a few minutes makes the falooda as look beautiful as it tastes. Some of the recipes are not just about the ingredients but also about presentation, this is one such recipe where we devour it with our eyes first. Falooda is a unique rose-flavored dessert drink with many layers of different elements such as jelly, basil seeds, vermicelli, rose syrup, sweetened milk, ice cream, and the topping of nuts and rose petals. In a tall glass, add 1.5 tablespoons of rose syrup. Top with a layer of cooked falooda sev (noodles), followed by a layer of soaked sweet basil seeds, and then a layer of chopped nuts and tutti frutti. If you can find Rose syrup it makes it easier (just add a little vanilla), but if you can find Rose water, you can make the syrup following the recipe! 🙂 I’m not a pink girl usually, but I still LOVE it in this!

It’s about the satisfaction that comes from creating something beautiful, something delicious. And that, my dear readers, is the true art of Falooda. Falooda: The Nostalgic Journey Down Memory Lane This Raspberry, Pistachio and Rose Swiss Meringue Buttercream was responsible for this serendipitous discovery. I remember asking Mr K to taste-test the frosting, which he did, and then stopped, reached out for a little more, tasted it again and then looked at me and said “this tastes just like falooda!” I told him it was rose water, not falooda syrup, but then when I tasted it, it hit me too! There was something that I added to my frosting (which I made using rose water) that made it taste like the falooda from our childhood.

for anyone who wants to know precisely what goes into their milkshake, because the store-bought syrup typically has a lot of preservatives and chemicals. Vanilla works wonderfully due to its mild and universally loved flavour, but don’t limit yourself. Feel free to use any other flavour of ice cream. Pistachio, strawberry, or even chocolate could add a whole new dimension to your Falooda. Zorah is a food Photographer, content creator, food blogger and Cordon Bleu Chef. Social Media Falooda contains milk, nuts, and basil seeds, which provide essential nutrients and vitamins. But it also uses sweetened milk and sweet syrup, so it is high in calories and sugar. Hence it is suggested to be consumed in moderation as part of a balanced diet. Can I eat faluda during pregnancy? BERRY FALOODA: Use strawberry syrup, strawberry jello, fresh strawberry slices, crushed or stewed berries.
