About this deal
Scaffold towers, sometimes referred to as access towers or a tower scaffold, are highly useful alternatives to ladders when there's a lot of work to be done at height.
Although a scaffold tower may take a little longer to assemble (please see our help section), it can greatly reduce your chance of falling from height compared to a ladder and would be more suitable when a ladder cannot safely be used. Wide range of optional accessories including castors, adjustable bases, stabilisers, platform boards etc.ALL Ladders Extension Ladders Combination Ladders Telescopic Ladders Roof Ladders Glassfibre Ladders Single Ladders Alongside that came a new second part to the standard, which covers the drafting and content of instruction manuals for these scaffold towers. This standard, which was published in November 2021, is EN 1004-2:2021 and the new part 2 replaces the now withdrawn standard EN 1298. Standard basic towers - (as priced below) include all main steel components - frames, diagonal braces, handrails & base plates. Full components list is in our pdf brochure. The sections and components are lightweight but engineered to be extremely strong, hard wearing and easy to assemble. With a handrail all around the working platform, towers offer a much safer alternative to ladders or steps. Towers for sale or hire in the UK are covered by either BS EN 1004 or BS 1139-6. Which standard applies depends on the type of tower.
You will need something to stand on - We recommend our Trapdoor/Boards option for ease of accessing the platform and an extra set of platform boards to provide a platform to stand on when assembling the tower - a small extra price to pay for added safety! Extra care must be taken when exiting the ladder and climbing onto the steel tower. There are also many reasons when a steel tower is not ideal and a Fibreglass or GRP tower is a better option, especially when working with electrical tasks. Cantilever Adjustable Legs (sold in a pair) are also available to help assemble your tower on a Sloping or flat roof to access the roofline above extensions and porches.
