About this deal

My 5 year old daughter helped put the set together for me, and didn’t need a lot of help. She really likes Easter (and Easter Eggs), so she was ecstatic to piece this set together. So far the seasonal sets have been exceptional this year, and I can't wait to see what's in store for us at Halloween and Christmas.

Both rabbits are delightful, and have distinct poses which I really like – a nice improvement over the Lovebirds which were identical to each other, except for colour variations. Build an Easter display – Assemble the 287 pieces to create a scene with 2 bunnies, 5 Easter eggs and 3 tulips, with customization tips included in the building instructions The base is a vibrant combination of bright green, green and lime green. It's perhaps unnecessarily elaborate and extravagant, but it does look great as a result.

Summary

Both options are brightly coloured, with some really fun colour combinations, and you can also mix things up and use both flowers and easter eggs in the scene. Both rabbits are a delight to build and display, and I really appreciate the option to swap out the decorations, and customise it to your liking, which ultimately increases the replayability and utility of the set. Easter Rabbits Display is a really well put together and designed seasonal set. LEGO have tried the solo animal build before, but introducing a companion really ups the playability, and interactivity of the model as it makes it look less like a statue or model, but a fully self-contained scene. These are a follow up to 40522 Valentine Lovebirds which was released earlier this month, so for those of you who like collecting these small seasonal sets, let’s take a closer look at 40523 Easter Rabbits Display!

You can place the rabbits on the singular stud, which allows for a very small degree of customisation as you can alter their position or rotate them slightly to mix up the angles, but I found that this wasn’t very effective at holding them in place, and they often popped out of place at the slightest nudge. Like the Valentine Lovebirds, 40523 Easter Rabbits is designed to be built as a group activity – there are 2 separate manuals, one for each rabbit, which makes this a really fun experience, if you like building with your spouse, partner, kids or friends. Special thanks to the LEGO Group for providing this set for review 40523 Easter Rabbits Display Set DetailsSome printed Easter Eggs would’ve been nice, but understand they need to keep prices accessible for these set Like the lovebirds, it's hard to find fault with it. It's perhaps not quite on a par with the parrots though, simply because that one is bursting with colour. Nevertheless, it's well-designed, displays well, full of useful parts, and priced very reasonably for the number of pieces: everything you could want from a LEGO set. Easter Rabbits Display is a fantastic set for builders on a budget, or if you enjoy collecting LEGO’s annual seasonal themes, and is the front-runner for me so far. I really cannot wait to see what other animals we get this year! Celebrate the Easter season with this adorable LEGO® Easter Rabbits Display (40523) building kit. The set features a white bunny and a light brown bunny sitting together in a spring meadow. The 5 colourful Easter eggs and 3 tulips complete the scene and can be displayed however you choose. Discover the new-for-2022 transparent pink opalescent element included on 1 of the eggs for an extra sweet touch to delight LEGO fans.

The eggs are colorful and lovely. One of them is topped with a pink opalescent dome that was new in 2021 and has only been in five sets previously. My youngest aptly described it as “whoa, that’s a cosmos piece”. The flowers are simple, with “tooth” petals, and very short stems. The proportions look a little odd, but a longer stem would have been very fragile without extra parts for reinforcement, so the decision is understandable. The brown rabbit’s “rubbing its hands together gleefully” look is also very cute! Add in some extra details like darker fur colours on their bellies, and you have a pair of really cute, masterfully designed rabbits!A variety of curved and cheese slopes have been used to give the lagomorphs an organic appearance, and they both look suitably winsome. Despite their different stances they share the same head and hind leg design.

It knows where it stands and doesn’t try to be anything more than that. And it works. The added customisation of the scene is also another fun bonus, and this really is a great standalone set that oozes Easter cheer.
