About this deal

The Rokit series from KRK have been incredibly popular over the years for providing high quality sound at an affordable price point. With the Rokit now on its 4th generation KRK are carrying on this winning formula whilst continuing to improve on an already impressive monitor. I’m not saying that I expected a laundry list of different ports and connection points to play with. However, the fact that it only has a single entryway, and nothing else, definitely takes a bit of the wind out of these largely impressive sails.

The sound pressure level has a maximum of 111 dB, and the power outputs at up to 203 watts. This is more than enough for most studio uses and even as DJ monitors. You’ll also want to be aware of the type of controller you’re using if you plan to use these for music and mixing. True to the KRK name, these front-facing port speakers come with that signature yellow woofer that is beloved by both, professionals and beginners alike. The KRK Rokit G4s have been engineered to ensure top quality sound. This monitor has a matching woofer and tweeter designed by KRK for a balanced, unified sound. With DSP-driven room tuning and a 25 visual graphic EQ you can take full advantage of the sound quality by tuning in the perfect sound to match the acoustics in your environment. The custom Class D power amplifier at the heart of this monitor is a new design that drives the speakers in a more even and efficient way meaning there’s less wasted energy resulting in a clearer sound. Rather than focusing on cutting corners and reducing costs in any way they could, the developers over at KRK Systems decided to put together an awesome powered studio monitor working at much reduced operating temperatures improving audio integrity even further. Dedicated low and high frequency level adjustment controls / Allows you to optimize the monitor's response to better match the room acoustics and the user's personal preferences

The low-end frequencies are handled by an 8-inch Kevlar cone woofer in the KRK Rokit 8 G4. A 1-inch kevlar dome tweeter is used to supplement the lower frequencies. Each driver in a bi-amped arrangement has its own amp to regulate output. The frequency response ranges from 36Hz to 40 kHz. The additional low-end depth helps to the pleasing bass response. There is still enough of space in the high-end for optimal clarity. Options for Tuning Because these are my first good speakers, I cannot compare with similar speakers from other companies. However, the step up from regular random speakers/subwoofer is immense and really worth expense. They have a built in pads so no need for additional pads, unless you need the pads for elevation or tilting. All new front-firing port has exceptional low-end accuracy, clarity, extension, punch and offers flexible room-positioning Build quality is something that KRK has always done pretty well. The way these monitors are designed has been thought about. They come with a high-density foam pad. This takes the speaker away from the surface and does a good job of reducing any vibration.

Your Creation Environment

That said, as with many other decent speaker setups, you’ll probably need to break them in before really enjoying everything that they have to offer. What It Gets Right

There is no set up process involved with these speakers and they are ready to go right away. You can even have them beside your screen or monitor without worrying about the magnets messing up your screen. When I turn these speakers up all the way it still sounds very clean and clear. The bass response is amazing and is probably the sole reason why many people choose to go with the G2 monitors. I have used many other KRK monitors before and all of them are pretty much the same to me except when you start to spend a little more money on them they start sounding a little more crisp in the mid section. The KRK Rokit series' striking design is famous. Yellow woofers are a common sight in many studios. Both experienced and inexperienced. While the design is subjective, it is difficult to overestimate how popular they are. The famous yellow is still there in the current generation, although it is now more subdued. A step up from the previous brighter yellow. It still makes a statement, but not in the same way that the previous generation did. You may also choose a white model if that is more appropriate for your studio. The RP8 have a built in equalizer for High and low frequencies add five steps for both which was easy to use and see the most suitable for my room size and listening preferences. Foam isolation pads on bottom / Protects the surface the monitors are sitting on and provides isolation for improved clarityWhile 5-inch and even 7-inch monitors are excellent options for those starting their musical journey, it’s only when getting into the 8-inch monitors that things start opening up for most people. While the connection options are more than a bit sparse, the same, fortunately, won’t be said about its tuning capabilities. On a brighter note they do sound great and the hissing is almost not audible when playing any noise trough them. if you wanted a quiet pair of speakers this is not it. The new KRK’s G4 follows the iconic KRK Rokit design to the letter while also building upon many of the G3’s slight shortcomings.
