About this deal

There’s one caveat with all of the iPad stand options I’ve covered thus far: you need a magnetic iPad to use them, and not all iPads come magnetised. Put simply, if your iPad isn’t compatible with an Apple Magic Keyboard, it won’t have the magnets required for options 1 to 3 above. It’s double-hinged, too (although the pre-release version I was sent didn’t have the base hinge), which means you have the option of lowering the iPad to the table if you want a super low-profile angle or folding it flat for easy transportation. Portrait and landscape orientation are also available via the 360-degree adjustable mount. Attach your iPad to a magnetic stand, and it suddenly looks like an entirely different device. It can be a second screen, Universal Control companion, or a conveniently placed consumption device while you’re making dinner. Updated September 2023: We've added the Paperlike Charcoal Folio Case, Casetify Selfie by Bonnie Lua Case, and a Do Not Recommend section. We also updated links and pricing. When shopping for an iPad stand, it's important to keep in mind what size screen it has. Fortunately, most stands are adjustable, so they can accommodate small tablets like the iPad mini as well as big-screened ones like the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. However, some stands are incapable of holding certain tablets, depending on how big or small they are. Form Factor

Rather than using this as a Mac hub (losing the iPad charging is a bit of a bummer in that scenario), it does present a rather awesome use case for anyone who wants to turn their iPad into a fully-fledged multiport device, complete with SD card slots, USB-A 3.1 inputs, and a 4K@60Hz HDMI output. Clearly, this product means a lot to CharJenPro, and their enthusiasm for it reveals how transformative this type of iPad accessory can be for users.Although the arm mounts can help us in a lot of ways, they’re an often overlooked or underestimated piece of furniture. They can be useful in education, business, cooking, etc. They should come with the iPad. So, now that I’ve hopefully given you some food for thought when it comes to use cases for iPad stands, let’s look at four great options. Option 1: CharJenPro MagFlött

The X36 stand gives you basically an infinity amount of heights, viewing angles, and depth adjustability. I can have it all the way above the monitor, I can pull it close to me and towards the desk to have a drawing surface, and it even tilts so I can have it flanking me when I am doing something on the main monitor. The length of the arm is perfect as well; I am using a desk that is 30in deep, and it can extend all the way to the end very comfortably. Ease of use When possible, I put all my screens on arm mounts. Ultrawide monitor? Mounted. iPad? You bet. It clears up the precious space that would've been taken by a pesky stand, and you can adjust the angle and height of the screen. Twelve South's HoverBar Duo delivers this luxury. I mounted it to the side of my bed frame for several months to catch up on Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The clamp is slim and doesn't need much clearance, so you can attach it to shelves, kitchen counters, or desks.iPad accessories are endless. Here are some other options that are perfectly fine—though some have issues that put them down a rung. There are two ways to use it. You can either connect the supplied USB-C cable between the hub and your iPad or connect the hub directly to your Mac. The former allows you to use all of the ports on the hub within iPadOS, from the HDMI output to the ethernet connection. The latter switches access to those ports to the Mac, but you’ll lose the ability to charge the iPad directly from the hub.
