About this deal

This is proving to be a tough case for Kate, Children are going missing, It seems their mothers are seen trying to get rid of them.

Martina has the skill of creating characters that drive you crazy. Love and hate are so close in emotion and I felt this a lot with Aidan. I loved the way he fought from a young age to provide for his family as essentially the man of the house, to make a name for himself and ensure that his family was taken care of. What I didn’t like were how the power slowly starts to corrupt him and with that comes unsavoury behaviour towards both his girlfriend and his family. Martina Cole’s books are typically written from the perspective of a female criminal protagonist. In Goodnight Lady, she tells the tale of a madame with a string of brothels and in Get Even, the wife of a murdered mobster. It is only in herD.I. Burrows seriesthat she has written from the perspective of “Old Bill”. Love Her or Loathe Her? Cole lives in a Grade II listed, 15th-century manor house near Sevenoaks, Kent. [1] She also has a house in northern Cyprus. [13] Wow! The killer is one messed up mofo! Nothing will sway the killer’s view that what they do is for all the right reasons- everyone else’s fault – the victim’s are “asking for it” SCARY!! Mám rada príbehy z mafiánskeho prostredia. Ten svet ma niečím fascinuje. A Martina Cole mi jeden taký priniesla, i keď nebolo to celkom to, čo som očakávala. Príbeh bol totiž viac zameraný na rodinné vzťahy ako tie mafiánske, našťastie v ňom ale nechýbali rôzne mafiánske praktiky. There he meets Jade an older woman, a woman who knows the business and helps him become the new face out there. For Aiden... its love at first sight. When the bodies of missing schoolgirls start turning up, former DCI Kate Burrows is dragged out of retirement. Canlap, Anne (13 April 2016). "Chelsea lorry driver makes 'pilgrimage' to his favourite author's TRNC home". www.newcyprusmagazine.com/ . Retrieved 28 June 2021. A serial killer is in town and the race is on for DCI Kate Burrows. Stop the killer before more innocent girls die... This book follows DI Kate Burrows, who thought she'd never face a killer like the Grantley Ripper again. But she was wrong.

This is a strong family drama that focuses entirely on relationships, and some of those are quite interesting. I am going to admit this: I am in two minds over Betrayal. I enjoyed the story and kept listening to the audiobook, but at the same time, I can't help but think that I had read this story before... That’s all right, love. The Booker prize money wouldn’t even keep me in cigarettes.” ( The Guardian) Cole is one of the worst writers I've read in a while. The only style she has to speak of is a tendency to repeat herself and treat the reader like an idiot. Yes, Ms. Cole, I can remember what happened two chapters ago, thank you; there's no need to keep reminding me. She has no idea what characterisation or character development are. Her characters don't learn or grow; they're the same from start to finish. The dialogue is excruciatingly unrealistic. The author doesn't use contractions, so the sentences sound completely false. This is the same as Lynda La Plante. I suspect that Martina may have used Prime Suspect as her template for writing and thought that that was how to write dialogue. Again, where was the editor? Can Kate and her team figure out what is going on, can they get anywhere with such a complex case, when it turns out things really are not as they seem, the case ramps up a level, and finding the answers become a little tougher. you can say that this is a good book–if mafia stories written on wattpad by 11-year-olds are your standard. Joseph/Bella and Christina – I am not going to say too much about these except I found Joseph to be a bit weak in his inability to be a man and make a choice. Bella is one crazy b*tch! Loved how that storyline panned out! 😱 and poor Christine – right place, wrong time in life….that is all I am going to say about that! BETRAYAL is the second book of Martina’s I have read (I read THE TAKE early last year) and I cannot wait to devour more of her titles. There’s something about the raw, grittiness of the worlds she creates that pulls you in and pops you right in the middle of it.

Not sure what anyone else has been reading, but there was no suspense, no drama, and anyone should be able to work out who the perpetrator is by about half way through the book.

The cover of this book describes it as a cross between Eastenders and the Sopranos. It kind of is like a 10-hour long episode of Eastenders, just darker and more violent without some comedy gingers for light relief.
