About this deal

Sarah seems to have all the trappings of an social media-perfect life, posting photos with handsome, adoring husband James, their big, beautiful, spotless home, and her fantasy wardrobe. The biggest news of all came just recently in the form of a pregnancy announcement, once again perfectly revealed to all of Sarah and James’ many followers. After a frantic phone message to her sister, Kate, Sarah disappears without a trace, leaving behind her purse, keys, cell phone, and clothing. James is distraught, in his kitchen, trying to figure out why there the smoke alarm is sounding, finding that it’s coming from the dinner-in-progress in/on the stove Sarah has left behind. James is desperate to find his wife before their social media-perfect image is ruined by people wondering where Sarah might have gone. Kate is the only one who knows that Sarah has run like this before, and she is terrified for her sister and unborn child. The more Kate digs into Sarah’s life, the more secrets she finds; seems Sarah was hiding something terrible. Now, Kate feels she is being watched as well as she and James befriend each other in the quest to find Sarah. Everyone is lying to Kate, and someone is desperate to keep these secrets; how far will that someone go to ensure they stay hidden? CLARE: the wife, is SO ready for the Taylor’s annual summer holiday- this year in a wonderful villa on the Amalfi coast. This book is written in first person perspective and the main protagonist is Kate. The benefits of books written in first person perspective are as long as they are well written it makes you feel that you are being spoken to by the protagonist and it can create more of a bond between yourselves and them. Sarah was hard to like; she appeared to be flighty, irresponsible, and over-the-top. All of these characteristics were likely increased by her use of ketamine, which is also not something you can just quit. She came through in the end for her sister, but still was not a likable character. The fact Ruth Harrow has interwoven a truth about our lives today into this story adds to the thrill of finding out what the truth actually is. The fact that all the characters aren't what the reader thinks adds some more to this psychological thriller. A great story which I can definitely recommend.

He usually arrives by 🚕 taxi...laden with gifts and good cheer..but this time he arrives with something else... Absolutely brilliant!!! I loved it and the ending left me speechless!! It blew my mind!! One of my favourites for 2018!!! This is a must read!!’ Goodreads Reviewer, 5 stars I hate Ella character so hard, she is a frivolous and foolish , she has no sense of responsibility, she represents most of the girls of this generation who have an unreasonable obsession with social media and the desire to bring in money by exploiting others naivety but i know she is psychologically ill and this makes me forgive her.

But someone wants their secrets to remain hidden...how far will they go to make sure those secrets stay buried? Having lost her Mum early, Clare enjoys sharing meal preparation, gin and tonics and gossip, with Joy. It will be a wonderful summer...

Rounding out the group will be Dan’s BROTHER, Jamie, the prodigal son, who is often traveling abroad but plans to join them a day or so later... After tonight there will be no more hiding, no more secrets, and no more lies. If there's a hurricane building, I'm ready to face the storm." The rest of the story is told on pins and needles as the main character is frantic with worry over what her new sister in law may or may not tell everyone. What can she do? what should she do? What will happen if she does nothing? And more importantly....what is her big secret?? Oh the tension and suspense! This book does not disappoint! I only wish the ending had more fall out for some characters and we got to see more action from it. And there’s someone who will do whatever it takes to make sure that this deep secret never comes to the surface.

James: how everyone did not see he was a narcissist from the beginning, I’m not sure. He gave me the creeps from the beginning, and it was not hard to tell that he was involved somehow.. I thought I had the book nailed and the outcome sorted and was happily waiting for it all to unfold THE SISTER-IN-LAW: Ella is everything Clare isn’t. Glamorous. Young. Influential. But she knows a secret about Clare. Something that has the power to break the whole family apart. Wow! What a read!… superb twists… this book is a MUST read… The entire story has you guessing and in suspense.’ Goodreads Reviewer, 5 stars

Clare is ready for a break. In fact, she needs one. She and her husband, Dan are going to use their Family Holiday at an Italian Villa to work on their marriage. It seems that Dan can't quite keep his hands and eyes to himself. After his last affair, they really need this time for them. BUT Ella knows her secret and so Clare has to shut up in the face of all of Ella's B.S. Will Ella tell all when Clare loses her cool? Will Ella sleep with Clare's wh*re of a husband? Will Ella get hit by a car and leave us all feeling satisfied??? And why, WHY can no one else see through her lovely facade to the ugly beneath? This is a story about Clare, who is married to Dan. She's an only child without living parents, so Dan's family becomes her family. There are his parents, Joy and Bob, and Dan's younger brother Jamie. Clare has become comfortable with Dan's family, fitting in as if it's her own. Then comes Ella, Jamie's new wife. She is everything Clare isn't, young, fashionable, exotic and Clare immediately feels threatened. Joy, the mother-in-law is the boss of the family and holds the reins over her two sons. She enjoys her daily Gin and Tonics, and likes to be in charge. Her husband, Bob is quite and will do anything to please his wife. This novel is so good, twisty and fast reading to me, i can't put it down. It's well written and i enjoyed it, this is the first novel to me by Sue Waston but not will be the last. OMG!!! SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!! WHAT HAVE I JUST READ!?!?!? Ruth Harrow you are an absolute writing legend!!! Absolutely love the constant unexpected twists!! Ella was so evil that she made my insides quiver, her darts of poisonous arrows found their mark. The barbs were fantastic in the dialogues. The ending was most unexpected. Sheesh I should have guessed it. But what can I say, Sue Watson had hidden it in plain sight... In her little country cottage, with her doting boyfriend, not far from the close-knit village, Lizzy can’t imagine who might want to hurt her. But when the threatening letters keep coming, she starts to suspect everyone around her.
