About this deal

Notable Ingredients: Oh, man…all of them?! This ingredients list is STRAIGHT FIRE if we are talking moisture barrier repair. Let’s break that down, shall we? I’m going to limit my highlights because otherwise I will literally never finish this review. Stinging is never a good sign, folks. You want your skin to tingle, a kind of ooo feeling, not a surprise sssttt moment like you threw jalapeños on an open wound. I didn’t realize that when I first ventured into skin care, copying acid and essence routines from r/SkincareAddiction. So when a barrier breakdown, which can take a long time and was triggered by a stress-induced full-body hive breakout, finally happened, I was lost. TL;DR: If your moisture barrier is damaged, this stuff will seriously change your life. Support an up-and-coming indie shop and repair your moisture barrier, all without breaking your wallet. There’s a lot of talk these days about the skin’s moisture barrier, which is a kind of mixture of fatty substances located in the upper layers of the skin that allows it to better retain moisture.

The story behind Stratia Liquid Gold isn’t like most skin care products. It began in 2016 when former chemistry minor Alli Reed started Stratia as a side hustle from her kitchen. Reed also started a blog and joined Reddit skincare groups, which turned out to be the key to her success. After formulating Liquid Gold, Reed shared samples with fellow forum readers on Reddit — and it went viral. Since then, Reed has formulated an entire line of Stratia skin care products, although Liquid Gold remains one of the brand’s best selling products.I prefer mandelic acid to harsher ingredients like glycolic acid. Plus, lactic acid always has a distinct smell that I don’t like.

The Pure 24K infused Glow Cream is from South Californian brand Pura D’or. I define it as a multi-functional skincare product as it helps my skin with many things. Because this doesn’t disappear into the skin and remains on top of the skin (if you use a good amount of product) that does mean you’re left with an oily/greasy layer on top which is wonderful for the PM (although be careful of pillow if you sleep on your front), and means that this wouldn’t feel comfortable on my skin as an AM moisturiser). Interface is one of the coolest affordable moisturizers with active peptides I’ve come across lately. It contains categories of two targeted peptides to help hydrate firm and repair your skin: rc-container-wrapper .rc-template__legacy-radio .rc-radio.rc-option__subsave { padding-bottom: .5rem; }Plus, licorice root extract and allantoin gently brighten your skin tone and are a great addition to a nighttime skincare routine to make you glow. Rosehip seed oil Ok, so now we know what ceramides are, let's see what they do in our skin: research shows clearly that they play a super important role in keeping the skin barrier healthy and the skin hydrated. If ceramides in the skin are decreased, more water can evaporate from the skin and there is less water remaining in the skin. So ceramides form kind of a "water-proof" protecting layerand make sure that our skin remains nice and hydrated.

Liquid Gold also has ceramides and cholesterol, two of the components of the lipid matrix that surrounds the cells in your stratum corneum (the top protective layer of your skin). It also has oils in it, which contain fatty acids bound up in triglycerides. There’s some research that found that putting lipid matrix components on your skin in the wrong ratio could make it recover from harsh treatment (like washing with cleanser) slower, but from what I can tell the right ratio is here. There’s also research that found that oils can act like fatty acids in this specific circumstance, so it’s likely to work as promised. Now the question is only this: If we put ceramides all over our face do theywork as well as ceramides already naturally in our skin? Well, the answer is probably a no, but they do work to some extent. The BeautyBrains blog made a fantastic article about ceramides and they have listed a couple of examples about studies showing that ceramides - especially when used in certain ratios with cholesterol and fatty acids - do hydrate the skin and can help to repair the skin barrier. Overall, we think that Stratia Liquid Gold is formulated well and should help to moisturize and brighten skin, but we wish the brand would reformulate with a different preservative so that the formula would be paraben-free. ProsReed expects sales to accelerate and continue to double over the next few years as she ramps up social media marketing, and plans to finally enter retail “in a strategic way.” Sheena commented, “I found this moisturizer through TikTok. I was excited until I realized I had fallen for a marketing gig. It is a great moisturizer, but how it is advertised is unreal. This moisturizer is very uncooperative with my makeup. For now, I am just utilizing it as a night cream.” Good Cera Super Ceramide Cream I did gradually start re-introducing my regular products, but the only Stratia product I no longer use is the Velvet Cleansing Milk, I just prefer a bit more of a robust cleanser (but would *highly* recommend it to others who either do not want to double cleanse or who have drier skin than I do). I'll admit that I'm a bit ambivalent about the rewind serum. I do still use it but it's hard to isolate the effect. I will say that it has a great texture, no scent, and feels really good when applied. The three signaling peptides above use two encapsulated and targeted peptides to help them get to where they need to go: Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Ethoxydiglycol, Niacinamide, Propylene Glycol, 2-Dimethylamino Ethanol (DMAE), Panthenol, Hydrolized Rice Protein, N-Acetyl Glucosamine, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Tamarindus Indica (Tamarind) Seed Extract, Hydrocotyl (Centella Asiatica) Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Disodium EDTA.
