About this deal

The twists and reveals this book has, OMG! They took me by surprise! My mouth kept falling open so often and I was just shook at some events happening! It came completely out of the blue and it was done in the best way! The ending itself was a bit bittersweet to me, but at the same time it is a perfectly understandable ending to this story and a perfect stepping stone to the next book! Which I need ASAP! Sing me to Sleep is a strong and compelling novel th Saoirse is an amazing FMC, I loved her so much! She's grumpy, she's serious, she's very protective of those she loves, and she's careful and smart.

This book sounded like it was right up my alley😭😭😭 and yet I couldn’t get into it at all. My biggest issue was the credibility of the characters relationships. I didn’t believe the closeness of the MC’s relationships. I think the problem was that the author was constantly telling us that this was all for the MC’s sister and yet I couldn’t see why the MC was absolutely obsessed with keeping her sister safe?? It felt like “LOOK AT ME LOVE MY SISTER” but not, “see why I care”?Despite her killer instincts, I initially liked Saoirse as her character is fierce and sassy. Her perspective also felt fresh and complex due to her struggles and weaknesses. That said, it soon became clear that her character is very manipulative, arrogant and cold, which made it hard for me to connect or relate to her.

Themes beautifully shared in this book are: prejudice, equality and acceptance, and the importance of loyalty and that it can signify family, not just blood. It is also about protecting your loved ones and reaching your potential.

The Cruel Prince meets To Kill a Kingdom in this seductive YA fantasy debut, in which a siren must choose between protecting her family and following her heart in a prejudiced kingdom where her existence is illegal. i’ve followed the author on tiktok for a long time, so i’ve been really anticipating this book! i love both mermaids and hidden identities, both of which this book had. i also love strong family relationships, and it was awesome seeing saoirse’s relationship with her little sister. I would recommend it to fans of sirens and readers who enjoyed The Cruel Prince and To Kill A Kingdom‘ Netgalley – 5 star review

In the second book in this dark and seductive YA fantasy duology, a siren must decide if saving her kingdom is worth betraying the boy she loves. The world building was nicely developed. I haven't read about sirens before, so I thought it was cool and well done! I also like that the society has multiple species like witches and fae with affinities!! I loved these creatures, and how the author included them! OH MY GOD THIS BOOK IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! i was hooked right from the start of the book and the twists and turns made my head spin. i can honestly see this book being the YA book of 2023 - it is honestly incredible.

I would recommend it to fans of sirens and readers who enjoyed The Cruel Prince and To Kill A Kingdom' Netgalley - 5 star review I smell a love triangle, so I can’t wait for her childhood bestie to turn out to be evil because oh my god, how would she choose otherwise? The relationship between these two was everything! They were so different but the way they bounced of each other kept bringing both to a greater height. They both became better due to the other, which was pure and amazing. I loved how Hayes wanted to learn more about her, how Saoirse kept her walls up but Hayes chipped them away bit by bit. The progression felt so real and natural to these characters! I can’t wait to see more of this progression in the sequel! Dami Olukoya does a brilliant job of creating a natural, authentic voice that conveys the content and emotions within this story. Besides this, the different character voices made the listening experience even more engaging and entertaining.
