About this deal

What does the SB-910 have that the SB-5000 does not? If you are into freeze-frame the SB-910 has a faster flash duration at the far end of the scale of 1/38,500 (might not make all that much difference). Overall the SB-5000 can matchand in some cases exceeds the SB-910 Performance + has an improved cooling system for longer shooting sessions without fear of overheating. The Comparision The SB-5000 is fully recycled: flashes slowly and goes out Insufficient flash output for correct exposure (in i-TTL,auto aperture flash or non-TTL auto flash mode, or AUTO mode in direct remote wireless multiple flash-unitphotography): flashes slowly You can record 4K UHD footage oversampled from 8K in FX-based video formats of [4128×2322 60p/50p] or [3840×2160/60p/50p].

Many flashguns feature a diffusion panel that pulls out from the front of the flash tube and swings down with a spring-loaded action. It gives a wider beam angle, to cover the field of view when using a wide-angle lens. Lenses – The lens has dust inside that may affect images. The rubber zoom/focus ring is coming away from the barrel of the lens. And 3 cables from other side after soldering and covering with tube. Drive Shaft fixed with hot glue silicone Only the D5 and the D500 as of August 2016 have any ability to control radio slaves, and even then they only do it if you buy a WR-R10 and WR-A10 adapter.Make sure your camera is updated to Firmware 2.0 or newer for: in-camera 8.3K/60p video recording, recording in N-RAW, recording in ProRes RAW HQ, and for recording 4K UHD 50p/60p footage oversampled from 8K.

This is a flash mode that fires a number of pre-flash pulses to narrow the pupils of the eyes when taking portraits. It reduces the effect of people appearing to have red pupils caused by the flash bouncing off the insides of their eyes. If you want to shoot via the traditional optical remote system, you don't need to pay extra for this flash's radio ability; the SB-700 does the same thing optically for much less money. Any Nikon camera with a built-in flash that works as a commander can control the SB-5000 optically — but you're not using the radio feature for that. Number of focus points available in photo mode with single-point AF selected for AF-area mode and FX selected for image area. Finance is only available to permanent UK residents aged between 18 and 80, subject to status, terms and conditions apply. Automatic switching of zoom head position with detection of the camera's image area setting—FX or DX format—for optimal angle of flash coverage

You can see motor assembly here with top screw already removed and removing second screw carefully with tweezers after unscrewing it. Nikon SB 5000 bolts This is the most important performance aspect of a modern flash: whether it's ready for the next shot or not.

This SB5000 is a pro flash for people who need radio control or want a flash that can fire at high power more or less continuously without melting. The SB-5000 works flawlessly with all Nikon DSLRs except the ancient D1 Series and D100. It's also perfect with the 35mm Nikon F6. If you're out on the beach or in the woods, again I'd use serious battery-powered professional strobes instead of these expensive and weak Nikon flashes. You can buy the larger pro units for less than the cost of this Nikon flash. When combined with either the Nikon D5 or D500, and the >Nikon WR-R10 ;and Nikon WRA10, it's possible to control up to six groups (A-F) or eighteen Speedlights for complex wireless lighting. Additionally, you can use up to three groups of radio or optical controlled units by using it with a standard optical control Nikon Speedlight. For using a flashgun off-camera, or in setups with multiple flashguns, one flashgun is configured as the master or commander, the others are set to slave mode. The most basic wireless linkage is ‘optical’ mode, which senses the light from the main flash (pre-flash pulses in TTL mode can often be ignored). Infrared linking is more advanced, enabling TTL and other options, but works over a fairly limited distance. Wireless RF (Radio Frequency) linking is best, as it’s more reliable especially in daylight conditions, doesn’t require ‘line of sight’ so you don’t have to worry about obstacles, and often works over a range of up to 100 meters. i-TTL, Auto aperture flash, Non-TTL auto flash, Distance-priority manual flash, Manual flash, Repeating flash I’ve been using the Nikon D5, the Nikon WR-R10 / WR-A10 wireless remote system, and my Nikon SB-5000s for a long time and I thought it might be helpful to other photographers if I shared some of my thoughts on this system. Before I explain how these amazing tools all work together, I wanted to first talk about some of the individual components. These are special tweezers which I used for holding screws to put them in tight places. Nikon SB 5000 Glass Fresnel

Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements andoptically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect theimagery. Powerful guide number of 34.5 m/113 ft at 35mm or 55 m/180 ft at 200mm (ISO 100, 23°C/73.4°F, in FX format, standard illumination pattern) This is the first Nikon Speedlight to offer wireless radio control, which removes the need for a direct line of sight between the master and the slave and increased reliability when shooting in bright sunlight. Opening of flash with watch knife with blunt edge. What needs to be removed to release flash tube assembly

We’ve always been fans of Nikon’s top-end, pro-grade Speedlights, and the SB-5000 is the best yet. It replaces the SB-910 as the Nikon’s flagship Speedlight. Compared with the SB-700, it adds a more powerful Gn 55 rating (at 200mm, which changes to Gn 34 at 35mm), as well as a longer 24-200mm motorized zoom range. That gives more wide-angle potential as well as greater telephoto coverage. As you’d expect, there’s also a pull-out, flip-down wide-angle diffuser panel, and a white catchlight card.
