Novation's Launchkey Mini made its debut in 2014, and has since been the pace-setter in terms of Ableton Live portable MIDI keyboard controllers. With the new MK3 version, Novation have included a whole host of incredible new features - including an on-board Arpeggiator and fixed Chord Mode - which open up more creative melodic work and beatmaking on the move. The MK3 also features a MIDI Out connection, which make it perfect for a home studio setup used in conjunction with hardware synths or a groovebox. With this assortment of sounds, creative virtual instruments and plug-in effects, the possibilities are endless with your projects. Included Software Unfortunately, this requires an adapter that is sold separately, and due to a change in format to adhere to new industry standards, existing Novation adapters for Launchpad Pro or Circuit synths will not be compatible.

While the MPK Mini has various DAW, it doesn’t integrate as seamlessly as the Launchkey does with Ableton. Whether it's used with Ableton Live or not, the Launchkey Mini is an excellent compact controller. It’s also not unlikely that you’ll end up with a damaged key after overtime, especially if you constantly press down on the keys too hard.Once the installer is finished open Logic with the Launchkey connected, you may be prompted to Auto Assign controls (which you can accept). If not, go to Logic Pro X > Preferences > Control Surfaces > Setup > New> Install and find the Launchkey Mini MK3 and select Add.
