This case is based on a study commissioned by the SportBusiness Group and the Budapest 2024 committee. We look at how fans, across thirteen countries, engaged with the Olympic Games of 2016 which was held in Rio de Janeiro. The data was collected from a survey of 1000 fans (over eighteen) in each of the thirteen countries. The countries selected were as follows: Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, India, Italy, Japan, Russia, South Africa, Spain and USA.
