About this deal

Classic creatures the Silurians were here long before the human race and didn’t look too kindly upon our kind. The Third Doctor sympathised with their cause when we first met them in 1970. In the Eighties, they teamed up with the Sea Devils for the Fifth Doctor tale, Warriors From the Deep. In recent times, the Eleventh Doctor befriended Silurian Madame Vastra who described herself as a “lizard from the dawn of time”! She, with her wife Jenny and the Sontaran Strax shared numerous adventures with that particular regeneration and one with his successor, the Twelfth Doctor. Read more here. Must Watch Stories: Egypt Is Still Ancient: Played straight in Mr. Men Adventure in Egypt. Little Miss Splendid takes some Mr. Men and Little Misses with her to Egypt; they ride down the Nile River on an Egyptian style boat, visit the Sphinx and even get lost in a pyramid with mummies and treasure. When Mr. Mischief seizes a sleeping wizard's wand in "Mr. Mischief", the wizard seizes Mr. Mischief's nose, who replies "Led go ob my node!" Mr. Mischief reached forwards and seized the sleeping wizard's wand. But he didn't know that wizards' wands don't like to be seized.

The Dark: Colourful animated fun from the Mr Men crew. In today's episode, Mr Bump has an accident in Little Miss Helpful's unlit basement. (S1 Ep 45)[S] Mr. Quiet and Miss Daredevil's Plot: Miss Daredevil gives Mr. Quiet a high speed ride to the x-ray room on his wheelchair when he's supposed to be going home. Mr. Happy and Miss Calamity's Plot: Mr. Happy struggles to remove a fish-bowl from Miss Calamity's head. Dr. First · Dr. Second · Dr. Third · Dr. Fourth · Dr. Fifth · Dr. Sixth · Dr. Seventh · Dr. Eighth · Dr. Ninth · Dr. Tenth · Dr. Eleventh · Dr. Twelfth · Dr. ThirteenthMr. Strong's defining characteristic is his incredible physical strength. He lifts an entire barn, flips it upside down to fill it with water from a river, and carries the now much heavier barn to put out the fire consuming a farmer's cornfield. All without breaking a sweat. A competition was held in the British Sunday Times newspaper for children to submit their own Mr. Men character for inclusion in a limited edition celebrating the 30th anniversary of the series. Mr. Cheeky was selected as the winning entry, submitted by then-eight-year-old Gemma Almond. Her creation led to a book featuring her character being published; it was sold only in W H Smith branches, with a portion of the proceeds going to a charity, supporting children with leukemia. Picnics is the first series/season 2 episode of The Mr. Men Show. Mr. Funny & Miss Giggles are first seen in the episode, Picnics. This is shown in the American version of the episode. Music: In the colourful animated sketch show, there's predictably little serenity after the arrival of Mr Noisy's drum kit, but Mr Strong's tuba playing comes as a surprise. (S1 Ep 30)[S] Interactive Narrator: In the 1983 adaptation of Little Miss Plump, she briefly interacts with the narrator by telling him it's easy to say "Sixty six succulent sizzling sausages".

Fruit: Animated sketch show. Mr Rude delivers fruit baskets, Mr Quiet takes a ride on Miss Daredevil's juiced-up jet and Mr Bump tries running an apple sauce factory.[S]In 2003, Adam created three new Mr. Men characters and three new Little Miss characters. He also created 'Little Miss Christmas' to accompany 'Mr. Christmas' after this book was rereleased with new illustrations.

In 2011, Sanrio, the Japanese design company best known as the creators of Hello Kitty, announced that they had reached an agreement to acquire the rights to the Mr. Men and Little Miss characters from Chorion after the company was forced into administration, so they used the THOIP company to take over. [7] This marked the first time that Sanrio had licensed a third-party character since owning the rights to Osamu Tezuka's Unico character in the late 1970s and early 1980s, which was returned to Tezuka Productions after Tezuka's death in 1989. Sanrio had also acquired the license to produce Peanuts merchandise for the Japanese market. In 2016, four new characters were launched to celebrate the series' 45th anniversary: Mr. Marvelous, Mr. Adventure, Little Miss Fabulous, and Little Miss Sparkle. Little Miss Explorer, a special book for Heathrow was also launched. Little Miss Valentine was introduced to the US market in 2019 with Little Miss Inventor being the latest mainline character to receive a book. Adam Hargreaves has also created several commercial characters, such as Mr. Glug for Evian water, Little Miss Miracle beauty cream, Mr. and Little Miss Gap, and Mr. First for money transfer company World First. In 2017, Adam Hargreaves launched a new series of books featuring characters from the BBC science-fiction series Doctor Who, with each book focusing on a different incarnation of the show's titular character. These were followed by editions based on the Spice Girls in 2019. [8] Little Miss Whoops, Mr. Bump's sister, is just as hapless as he is; she, too, is always wrapped in bandages from previous accidents. The '60s: Dr. First is subtly set during this era, since that was when the show launched. The First Doctor turns up his nose at some ridiculously dressed hippies as he searches for Susan. Little Miss Naughty is so named because of her tendency to play mean spirited pranks on people for fun.

While dozing in a chair in the garden, Mr Lazy is wakened by two humans, Mr Busy note not the title character of a later Mr. Men book and Mr Bustle, who subject him to a gruelling routine of housework and a very long walk, and then a run. When one of the men blows a whistle to make him start running, the whistle turns out to be the whistling kettle boiling in the kitchen (which takes two hours in Sleepyland). It had all been a terrible dream! When Mr Lazy then falls asleep (yet again) when he sits down for his breakfast, we are left with an ambiguous ending. An unidentified voice says "Wake up, Mr Lazy! WAKEUPWAKEUPWAKEUP!" Is this another instance of Or Was It a Dream?, or is Mr Lazy simply repeating the dream he had before? When the vulture lands on Mr. Bump's blood pressure, Mr. Bump says "It's a vulture!", a line that was never present in the US version. The Ditz: Mr. Dizzy starts out living up to his name, coming up with bizarre answers to simple questions asked by a pig and an elephant purely to rub in how clueless he is (such as naming a mouse as a big animal with big ears). However, after drinking from a magic well, he becomes intelligent and turns the tables on them with style. Mr. Nonsense, as befits his name, has a truly nonsensical way of looking at the world. He sleeps in a rowboat (he found a motorboat too uncomfortable) and eats oatmeal on toast for breakfast (he tried oatmeal sandwiches once but didn't like them). Eyeglasses: In this episode of the animated sketch show, it's all about eyeglasses. Miss Whoops loses hers on an aeroplane. And Mr Happy needs a pair, according to Mr Stubborn.[S]

Power-Up Food: Mr. Strong gets his incredible strength from his diet of eggs, eggs, and more eggs. note And, according to his story's final line, ice cream. This hairy beast is not as cute as it might appear! In actual fact, however, in Doctor Who the Yeti were robots created by The Great Intelligence in the Second Doctor era (The Great Intelligence would go on to return and face the Eleventh Doctor and Clara in Series Seven). Appearing in 1930s Tibet and then in the Underground in Sixties London, the Yeti are a fearsome foe whose war cry sounds not unlike a very slow toilet flush. A Yeti also made a brief cameo in 20th Anniversary Special, The Five Doctors, but it’s unclear if this was real or robot… Read more here. Must Watch Stories: Laborious Laces: The scruffy Mr Clumsy frequently trips on his undone shoelaces, in contrast to Mr Fussy, whose laces are not only always tied, but ironed. Paper-Thin Disguise: In "Little Miss Shy and the Fairy Godmother", the others don't recognise Little Miss Shy even though the only thing different about her is a pair of glass slippers. Justified, as she's so confident that she's quite unlike her usual self. Mr. Quiet, Mr. Messy and Mr. Noisy's Plot: Mr. Quiet is trying to have a picnic in the wood but is interrupted by Mr. Messy. Mr. Messy litters upsetting a skunk, a deer and a Dillydale Giant Owl. Mr. Noisy soon arrives with his boombox and joins in. He and Mr. Messy make so much noise and it starts annoying Mr. Quiet and the wild animals. The noise is so loud that it causes the wild animals to arrive and turn off the boombox and then they frighten Mr. Noisy and Mr. Messy away.Ignorant About Fire: In "Mr Men and Little Miss: Fire Station", Mr. Lazy dozes off while he's ironing, which sets his house on fire. It was very nice to see you," said Mr. Fussy politely. But what he was thinking was "it's very nice to see you going". Hats: Mr Fussy visits Miss Magic's shop in search of the perfect headgear. Mr Stubborn goes for a dangerous drive in an oversized bonnet.[S] Flight: One of Mr. Impossible's abilities; he simply stands outside and flaps his arms, and away he soars. Mr. Strong has a huge appetite, but only for one food - eggs, the source of his incredible physical strength.
