About this deal

Broken Ace: Iris is an excellent administrator, adept politician and incredibly wealthy businesswoman by the time she's eighteen, but only because she works herself to the bone to distract herself from her sorrows. The English adaptation of the manga is licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment, who is also set to bring over the light novels. The original Japanese manga can be found here and the original novel can be found here . The main story was completed after five volumes, but the author then decided to continue the story by writing a prequel series about Iris' mother Merellis. Bern comes very close at the beginning of the story. After turning on his sister he is only barely tolerated at home. All the servants hate him and want him gone while his mother makes it clear that she considered publicly disowning him.

You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Cuts ties with Dorsen and Van after they lose their ranks. After being arrested for her part in Edward's treason, Divan abandons her to prison and presumably death. Formula with a Twist: The twist of this series has a tax bureau employee wake up in the body of the villainess of a game she played at the point where the villainess already lost her fiancé to the heroine. The reincarnation makes the best of the situation, avoiding the villainess's fate of exile to a convent and instead getting confined to her family's territory. The reincarnator then opts to use her knowledge of modern economics to change how things are run, making her former fiancé look like a fool for abandoning her for a lower-rank noble. Inadequate Inheritor: Even without Yuri exacerbating his worst qualities, he doesn't seem to have any knowledge or interest in the kingdom he feels himself so entitled to, which shows itself at various points (such as not recognizing the problems with disbanding the military or be able to plan appropriately for famine relief). The Mole: His entire purpose in settling in Armelia is to act as a spy for Yuri. Absolutely nobody was fooled by his half-hearted apology, but they let him in anyway to give him enough rope to hang himself with. Satellite Character: Zigzagged. In the otome game, Iris was one, having no real characterization beyond "current girlfriend of Edward, who resents Yuri for catching her fiance's eye". But once the accountant starts living her life, she realizes that Iris had far more character depth than that, such as her annual tradition of uplifting a random peasant to receive the sort of education and job prospects that they could never have hoped for otherwise, granting her a circle of highly talented and extremely loyal retainers. On the other hand, all the boys in the game, who are the heirs of the movers and shakers of Tasmeria and presumably would have plans on how they intend to move and shake the kingdom once they graduate, rapidly end up being little more than Yuri's sycophantic attendants.Modest Royalty: She always wears simple dresses that are comfortable to work on. She is so used to this that she designs her party dresses to be easy to move around. Obnoxious Entitled Housewife: Makes a point of claiming all the perks of royalty the moment her engagement to Edward is officially announced, despite the fact that under Tasmerian social conventions, a noble's intended is not considered part of his house until the wedding actually happens - betrothals do fall through on occasion, after all, as she would know, having poached Edward from his original fiancee herself. Her claiming of rights she is not yet entitled to does not make her any friends among Alfred's faction and merits more than a few raised eyebrows among the neutrals. When she finally gets her comeuppance, presenting herself as royal when she isn't is declared to be fraud at best and treason at worst. Innocently Insensitive: His senpai all but needs to spell to him why Iris would be upset by his plan of winning a visit to her by defeating his bodyguards. Entitled Bastard: Yuri believes she is entitled to great things because she had a hard life growing up.

Stealth Insult: Bern tells Yuri that she's like a dream, which she takes as a compliment. However, his words mean that she needs to live in actual reality for a change just like he has chosen to wake up from this dream. Merchant guild's vice-chief of accounting, before being asked to manage the new institution: the Bank. Took a Level in Badass: While he was easily taken down a peg by his sister, mother, and Tanya, by Volume 04, he becomes capable enough to command a room full of nobles and call them out on their crap.Parental Favouritism: She favors Iris over Bern, and she outright tells Iris that she is on her side. Justified in that Bern was acting irresponsible and entitled while also participating in Iris' humiliation and exile from High Society. Additionally, he was completely blinded by his crush on Yuri while ignoring his responsibilities for two years. Even when Bern comes to his senses and makes amends, Merellis makes it no secret that Iris is still her favorite. Face of a Thug: Duke Armelia has a sharp villain's face and mannerisms, but he's actually a caring father and honorable politician. Undying Loyalty: Having been saved by Iris as a child, she is loyal to Iris and claims to serve her only. She wishes to train her children to serve Iris’ children. The Church: The religious authority in Tasmenia is the Church of Daryl. It's very similar to Catholicism, except that priests are allowed to have families and the Pope Position is hereditary. The latter has changed after the current Pope and other higher ranking priests were charged with stealing funds from the church.
