About this deal

There is a growing trend among pottery enthusiasts to collect so-called “ring culture pots.” These are pots that have been created by cultures that traditionally use rings to decorate their pottery. The most popular rings culture pots come from the Native American Pueblo people, who have a long history of pottery making. Ring culture pots are also popular among collectors of Mexican and Southwestern pottery. History Tomatoes You can paint pots using non-toxic paints to prevent tainting any crops you plan to grow in them, or add textures by gluing on materials such as burlap or hessian, rope, or cloth. You can theme your pots to suit your taste. Add shells, beads or even mosaic pieces to create a snazzy pot that’s unique to you. 6. Use a Pot as a Harvesting Trug You can add more potting compost or high quality garden compost into the halo at planting time, leaving enough space to water into it. This encourages roots to grow from the buried part of the stem, which will provide more support and nutrients for the plant. This also works for some other crops in the same family, such as peppers.

The perfect growing companion for grow bags, large pots or any veg garden, Plant Halos offer an 'all in one' watering and crop support solution for popular crops such as tomatoes, peppers and beans. Plant Halos can be used on grow bags, pots (with a diameter of 26cm and above), raised beds, as well on traditional vegetable plots. The central inner pot creates a deeper planting zone which is particularly useful when used with grow bags as it allows a deeper planting zone to develop healthier plants. A 3.1 litre outer 'moat' features six 2.8cm (1") watering spikes which penetrate below the surface, delivering water direct to the plant's roots. This ensures that water and liquid feed are delivered at a reduced rate that the plant is better able to absorb, preventing wastage which is common with conventional watering. It typically takes between 3 and 6 hours for the water reservoir to drain fully, depending on the weather and soil conditions. Plant Halos also feature a unique cane support system. 3 anchor slots surround the inner pot and provide the means for a rigid, wind-resistant structure using a bamboo cane (not included). A cane grip cap to create a study wigwam is also included and allows for up to 4 canes to be joined (Canes not included). Plant Halos are manufactured from recycled, UV stabilised plastic and are guaranteed for 5 years. Dimensions: 29cm (11½") diameter, 13cm (5") high. Plus an extra 2.8cm (1") Water Spike.

Suttons strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3. Or, attach a hook to the pot and hang it from a branch. 4. Make a Twine Dispenser

A 3 litre outer 'moat' features six watering spikes, delivering water direct to the plant's roots. This ensures that water and liquid feed are delivered at a slower rate that the plant is better able to absorb. Remove a tomato plant from its pot and place into the halo, then add more compost up to the cotyledons. For those of you who don’t remember your botany, tomatoes and most broad-leaf plants have 2 seed leaves called dicotyledons and single grasses (sweetcorn and alliums and so forth) have 1 seed leaf called a monocotyledon. This is how herbicide works. This is why they can spray a field of sweetcorn for broad-leaved weeds because it will act on the dicotyledons and leave the monocotyledons unaffected. Before we get started, get ready for some colourful gardening in a pair of our wonderful wellies, made only from natural rubber and plastic-free 🌎 And don’t forget to plant your seeds straight into our wood fibre Vitapots for strong, healthy growth. You can then pot on into our vibrant and eco-friendly bamboo pots, suitable for outdoors as well as in!The Plant Halo also cleverly includes 3 slots for canes and a plastic cane joiner for the top of the cane. Made from durable plastic, they can simply be washed and re-used year after year. Starting your own tomato business by planting your own tomatoes from grow bags is a great way to get started. It’s convenient, neat, and effective, but it’s a little different from growing tomatoes in pots or on the ground. The Essentials Of Tomato Grow Bags You install your Plant Halos into your growbag (or onto soil, they are perfect for three per growbag. You then top up the central feeding chamber with compost. This is the area where the tomato plant has its short, knobbly roots which take in the feed and nutrients. You then leave the outer chamber empty and use this for day to day watering. This has a a 3 litre capacity and you can fill with water when watering and it will slowly dissipate into the growbag through the unique watering spikes - ensuring that all the water is taken up by the grow bag.

This clever designwill allow you to get more professional results from your greenhouse crops such as (but not only) tomatoes. The science behind the design is that you get exactly the right amount of water and feed to the correct parts of the root structure. They work superbly well in growbags. Because of the cold nights that we are still receiving at the moment, we are going to place some fleece over them. Place a cane into one of the 3 smaller holes in each halo to help support the tomato as it grows. I like to grow mine up strings in the greenhouse, but let’s use a cane for now. Fold the fleece over the halos and they will be perfectly safe and warm during the night, don’t forget to remove it by day. These Plant halos completely transform growbags in terms o tehm drying out (a common problem when using growbags alone). Users of Plant Halos report that their yields increase, their plants look vibrant and healthy and that theirgrowbags don't dry out. Can be used on grow bags, pots (with a diameter of 26cm and above), raised beds and vegetable plots. The tomato became popular in Europe in the 18th century, when it was introduced by the Spanish. Tomatoes were initially used as ornamental plants, but they soon became popular as a food source. In the 19th century, tomatoes were used in a variety of dishes, including soups, stews, and sauces.

3. Build a Bug Hotel

By delivering water directly to plant roots, the Tomato Halo prevents weeds and cutworms while also providing plant roots with nutrients. You can use the tomato support in any way you want with the versatile design. A Tomato Cage can be found around the Halo’s built-in support channels, or a Tomato Ladder can be found in the built-in support channels. There are several ways to plant it, including in a raised bed, a container, or right in the garden. It is necessary to add a large amount of water to the inner pot to help the soil settle and encourage root growth. You can use water-soluble fertilizers such as Plant Health Care on a regular basis. If you use a Tomato Cage, place it around the halo and press the legs into the soil until the bottom rung rests on the ground. Make your own reservoirs of water by yourself. To cut the bottom off an old plastic pot, take it apart and use a sharp knife or scissors. Your halo appears to be in place. Then, place it halfway into the ground and plant your tomato plant. Tomato Halos In Grow Bags You can also reuse old plastic pots to help water other thirsty plants such as squash. In this case there’s no need to cut off the bottom. Just dig a hole next to the plant for your pot reservoir. Bury the pot almost up to the rim, then fill with water. The water will gradually seep out into the root zone of the plant, right where it’s needed. 2. Use a Pot as a Planting Guide The central planting area is particularly useful when used with grow bags as it allows a deeper planting zone to develop healthier plants. Sink a Plant Halo into a grow bag or into the ground if you have a traditional vegetable plot. They can also be used in pots with a diameter of 26cm or above or on raised beds. How does it work?
