We have made this choice as a sustainable brand to reduce our impact by trying to keep things simpler. Proverb states that you only need 2-3 swipes per pit and each 70g refill should last 8-12 weeks versus Wild’s 43g refills. This is currently the largest refill within the UK for natural deodorant, think of this as the Yorkie bar of deodorant! Unlike Wild, Proverb’s refillable deodorant case is plastic. But you will only ever need one. I remember when I heard about the launch of Proverb Skincare - I had tried a few Pinks Boutiqueorganic products by this point, and so I was excited about this new business venture and could not wait to see what was in store. If you can’t do this with your wheel for any reason then place it in your normal home recycling, it is widely recycled PET.We are working currently on alternatives to the PET wheel, we really want to try and make it from paper. Proverb’s natural deodorant is based around an oil and powder formulation, but their oil and wax elements differ, coming from Carnauba wax, Candillia wax, Bayberry wax. Why has it happened? Skin is complex, so it is always difficult to find the exact reason (20 years training facialists and making skincare products, we are well versed in this!) The most likely two causes would be an allergy to an ingredient or a pH imbalance. This can occur due to a pH difference between your sweat, which is acidic and the sodium bicarbonate which is alkaline. Remember our sensitive / teen deodorant does not contain sodium bicarbonate. Sodium Bicarbonate is in all of Fussy’s deodorants. Although this is a brilliant natural deodoriser, people can be allergic to the ingredient - causing the armpit to become inflamed, red and itchy. Also known as Baking soda, it is alkaline and your skin is acidic, hence the issues. The brand states that the amount is so small, it shouldn't cause a problem to the majority of people . Fussy vs Proverb: The Winner Whereas the natural deodorisers and sweat absorbers used are: Tapioca, Cornflower, Sodium Bicarbonate/ baking soda (only in the Active versions), Magnesium, plus an additional deodoriser that Proverb keeps secret as it is different to their competitors. In the Core & Sensitive deodorant ranges, there is no sodium bicarbonate. In the Sensitive deodorant arrowroot swaps in instead of cornflower. Coffee seed is great calming agent for removing toxins from your underarms, that may be contributing to odour.Proverb is free from all the ingredients you would expect any certified organic or natural brand to be free from.
