About this deal

I noted a high amount of bitterness in my original review of Pine Trail. There’s only a smidgen of bitterness in this version, which allows the grassy, tropical flavours from the aroma to shine through here.

BIG DROP - Big Drop was launched in October 2016 by the-then City lawyer Rob Fink, along with his school-friend/band-mate, designer and entrepreneur, James Kindred. The idea for a brewing business that only made alcohol-free beer was driven by their own lifestyle changes (eg fatherhood) and the frustration that there were no good alcohol-free beer options. Pine Trail pours a hazy amber colour, with a magnificent head of foam that provides a buffer as you sip. The foam leaves a pleasant amount of lacing. The body may be a little lighter than what you are used to, particularly if this is your first foray into non-alcoholic beer. The list above shows how versatile this beer is and it will do well anywhere you’re looking for a sessionable beer. The flavours carry on from the aroma, and this time I’m glad to say are full strength! Lovely pine flavours mixed with grapefruit and lime citrus, hoppy resin, very light malt sweetness with a bitter finish. The body is good, probably a combination of the carbonation and the addition of lactose. Disgusting aftertaste as well, the Hops are not nice at all, and fruits are too overbearing. This is not looking well. We will make any reimbursement due to you as soon as possible and in any event within the following deadlines: The guarantee provided above is in addition to your legal rights in relation to Goods that are defective, faulty or not as described. Advice about your legal rights is available from your local Citizens Advice Bureau or Trading Standards office. Pine Trail is a dry-hopped beer. This gives more aroma and flavour to the beer without adding more bitterness. But it means the beer costs more to produce because of the cost of additional hops and the extra time it takes.

I tried the pale ale and the lager, too, and both are excellent, but the stout really is the business.” — Adrian Chiles, The Guardian We are Milk & More, a trading name of MoreCo Group Limited (“MoreCo”). This beer contains a little lime juice too, to bring out the other citrus flavours provided by the hops. Paragraph 8.4 if the substitute item is a Good which is a 'Perishable Item' (the meaning of Perishable Item is an item which is liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly, for example milk, other dairy products, bread or has a "use by" or "best before date" which expires 6 weeks or less from the date of delivery); or 8.3.2 paragraph 12 for all other Goods.

This AF Pale Ale has 61 calories per 330ml can/bottle (compared to full strength beers which are usually 150 calories) and contains 3.6g carbs and 1.8g sugar per 100ml. Its Citra IPA was crowned ‘King of Craft’ at the 2019 Casual Dining show, which was dominated by full-strength beers. It also won the overall Champion’s trophy for ‘Non and Low Alcohol Beer’ at The International Brewing and Cider Awards and a Silver medal at the US Open Beer Championship. While this beer is good out of the can, it is really elevated to the next level when it is dropped into some great glassware. If you have read my content or watched any of it over on YouTube you’ll know that I am a big fan of, well priced and great quality glassware as it really takes non-alcoholic beer to flavour levels that rival and often exceeds traditional alcoholic beer. From the pour we get a massive white head, pretty big, a lot of carbonation going on. The colour is golden amber. Not bad on the eye. Brewers usually add lactose to stouts to add sweetness. Here it provides a bit more body than you’d typically get in a low ABV beer. Once poured in a glass you’re going to find the Pale Ale variant from Big Drop Brewing has a loose netted head that dissipates within a couple of minutes of pouring. Additionally, it is gold in colour with a lightly hazy orange tinge. Pine Trail Pale Ale has less than 10 PPM of gluten and is safe for people with gluten intolerances and Coeliac disease. The most impressive no/low alcohol beer I have ever tried; no argument, it just is.” — Melissa Cole, British Guild of Beer Writers Big Drop was launched in 2016 as the world’s first brewer dedicated to alcohol-free beer by the-then City lawyer, Rob Fink and long-time friend James Kindred. The lactose also adds a few more calories to this brew. But there’s still only around 62 calories per 330ml bottle or can – about half the calories of a 330ml bottle of 3.6% pale ale. There’s about 12g of carbs per 330ml serving, 0.3g of which is sugar. Firstly, there’s added lactose – a sugar derived from milk. So this beer isn’t suitable for vegans. In my view, by far the best of the low-alcohol brigade is Big Drop Brewing Co. All its beers come in at just 0.5%, and all of them are excellent – the stout in particular is a jaw-dropper. Superb flavour without compromise.” — Olly Smith, Mail on Sunday About Big Drop
