About this deal

The book is a deep dive into human psychology, using the framework of a conversation with the Devil to illustrate how these negative influences can be controlled and overcome. Hypnotic Rhythm: The Devil explains that once people are caught in a pattern of thought or behavior (whether positive or negative), it develops into a hypnotic rhythm. Changing this rhythm requires conscious effort and determination. All of us have things that we fear, some of us have rational fears, and some of us may have completely irrational fears. When Mr. Earthbound asks the devil about fear, according to the devil, 98% of humans are fearful. And, six significant fears prevent us from living full lives. Remember this: everything having a real existence is capable of proof. Keep this one truth in mind and you will become a sounder thinker.

Teach children the true nature and function of the emotion of sex, and above all, teach them that it can be transmuted into a driving force capable of lifting one to great heights of achievement. However, this ‘other self’ is exactly what the devil tries to undermine at every turn of our lives. He does so by dividing mankind into drifters and non-drifters. Lesson 2: The devil seeks to make us permanent drifters, never getting around to what we’re meant to do in life. Fear of poverty, criticism, ill health, loss of love, old age, and death. These dreadful emotions are what the Devil uses to keep us prisoners while we’re alive.

two entities occupy your body, as in fact two similar entities occupy the body of each living“One of these entities is motivated by and responds to the impulse of fear. The other is motivated by and responds to the impulse of faith. Professional men who succeed do so largely because of the manner in which they relate themselves to their clients. It is much more important for the lawyer to know people and to know the laws of nature than it is to know the law. If you could do anything in the world, what would it be? So what's standing in the way of pursuing this goal? Did you know that according to Napoleon Hill, 98% of us are governed by fear? One of the critical insights of Outwitting the Devil is that it's okay to be self-serving. We don't have to please everyone, and we're more effective if we put our needs first. By keeping up with our own purpose and values, we're more likely to be in the position to serve and help others.

Adversity and failure. These are nature’s universal languages through which she imparts wisdom to those who are ready to receive it. Just as Hill did not have actual conversations with the members of his “Inner Circle” of successful people of yesteryear, it follows that this was mostly an imagined conversation that took over Hill’s typewriter. Also, it’s uncanny how “The Devil’s” opinions were so much in line with what Hill had already espoused in his book Think and Grow Rich such as having a major definite purpose. The book was fascinating for sure. Napoleon Hill draws on his life experience to produce a very forward thinking and thought provoking piece that essentially reveals how apathy or 'drifting' robs so many humans of their potential. The use of 'The Devil' to further this metaphor is clever, and so far ahead of its time the book was suppressed by family and those with the ability to suppress it after Hill's death in the 70s until now. However, the core message is a great one, and a nice companion piece to the famous Think And Grow Rich. Since I believe in His righteousness (the Righteousness of Christ), then why wouldn’t you of course then believe that you OWN that righteousness. your ‘other self’ will not do your work for you; it will only guide you intelligently in achieving for yourself the objects of your desires.

keep the doors to your mind tightly closed against all thoughts which seek to limit you in any manner whatsoever, In a business association, for example, who establishes the dominating influence that determines the rhythm of the environment?Does each individual have his own rhythm of thought? A Yes. That is precisely the major difference between individuals. The person who thinks in terms of power, success, opulence, sets up a rhythm which attracts these desirable possessions. The person who thinks in terms of misery, failure, defeat, discouragement, and poverty attracts these undesirable influences. This explains why both success and failure are the result of habit. Habit establishes one’s rhythm of thought, and that rhythm attracts the object of one’s dominating thoughts.
